Farhan Akhtar reveals the only question people ask him these days

After a long wait, season 3 of Mirzapur 3 is finally set to premiere on July 5, and the excitement is palpable. The trailer for the new season was unveiled today at a grand event in Mumbai, attended by the show's cast and creators.

Farhan Akhtar, whose company Excel Entertainment produces the series, was present at the event. He spoke about the buzz surrounding both Mirzapur 3 and the upcoming installment of his beloved film series Don 3.

As the proud producer of Mirzapur, Farhan expressed his gratitude for the show's success at the trailer launch. He emphasized that the audience is the true measure of a show's success, saying, "We don't make a show a success, but its audience does." He credited the creative team behind Mirzapur and said they are "very, very blessed" to have such talent on board.

Farhan highlighted Mirzapur's widespread appeal, noting how it has captured the hearts of viewers globally. He shared that wherever he goes, people invariably ask him two or three questions: "Ek poochte hain ke 'tum yahaan kya kar rahe ho?' Uske baad poochte hain ke 'Don 3 kabhi aayegi' aur 'Mirzapur 3 kabhi aayegi?'" (The first one is, 'What are you doing here?', then they ask, 'When is Don 3 and Mirzapur 3 coming?') He concluded by expressing his happiness that the long-awaited Mirzapur 3 is finally happening.*Mirzapur is a Hindi crime thriller series that premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2018. After its immense success, the second season was released in 2020. Now, after a four-year wait, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of season 3.

Directed by Karan Anshuman, Gurmeet Singh, and Mihir Desai, the series stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal, Divyenndu, and Vijay Varma, among others.

In addition to Mirzapur 3, Farhan Akhtar also touched upon the highly anticipated third installment of the Don franchise. Directed by Farhan himself, the first two films starred Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Lara Dutta. The third installment, set to begin filming in early 2025, will introduce Ranveer Singh as the new Don, with Kiara Advani playing the lead heroine. Farhan will continue to helm the franchise as its director.
