Emraan Hashmi wishes to reunite with Mallika Sherawat, says, "We were young and stupid, you’re so impulsive"

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi recently opened up about his relationship with actress Mallika Sherawat in an interview with News18, revealing his desire to work with her again. The duo, who starred together in the 2004 hit film "Murder," were known for their fiery on-screen chemistry. However, their off-screen interactions were not always so amicable.

Reflecting on the past, Emraan admitted that both he and Mallika said mean things about each other after the release of "Murder." He described their younger selves as "young and stupid," acknowledging that their decision-making at the time was impulsive and limited. Emraan expressed regret over the harsh words exchanged, noting that they have since moved past those issues. “We kept all of that aside. It was long back. It was very nice seeing and meeting her. She was very warm and so was I. She’s a co-actor I wish I could have worked again with,” he said.

Their recent meeting at producer Anant Pandit's daughter's wedding was a warm and cordial encounter. Emraan mentioned how it was refreshing to see Mallika after such a long time. He recalled that it had been years since they last interacted, making this reunion a significant moment for both of them.

The feud between Emraan and Mallika began shortly after the success of "Murder." Public exchanges of harsh comments led to a rift. Emraan even labeled Mallika a “bad kisser” on Koffee with Karan in 2014 and joked about gifting her a guide to learning English, referring to her Hollywood aspirations at the time. Mallika, in turn, admitted on The Love Laugh Live Show in 2021 that their fight was childish and uncalled for, acknowledging her part in the misunderstanding during the film’s promotions.

Recently, a photo of Emraan and Mallika hugging at the wedding went viral, indicating that their relationship has healed over time. Fans were thrilled to see the two actors together again, sparking hope for a possible on-screen reunion. Emraan Hashmi will next be seen in the series 'Showtime'.
