Legendary actor Dilip Kumar passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai. He breathed his last at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness.

As the entire nation mourns the demise of the screen icon, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also took to social media to share a picture of the late actor from the hospital.

Madhur had visited Dilip Kumar during his final moments and shared a picture on his Instagram handle. He wrote: "I was fortunate to pay my tributes to the legendry actor Dilip Kumar sir on his last journey. RIP #LegendDilipKumar.”

The unfortunate news of Dilip Kumar’s passing away was shared by the late actor’s family friend through his official Twitter handle.

“With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return," wrote family friend Faisal Farooqui in a tweet.

Dilip Kumar’s funeral will take place today at 5:00 PM. Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai. He will be laid to rest with full state honours.

As soon as the news of the legendary actor’s passing away broke, actors like Dharmendra, Vidya Balan with her husband Sidharth Roy Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan among others arrived at Dilip Kumar’s residence in Bandra to pay their last respects.
