Dilip Joshi and Asit Modi engage in a heated argument

SAB TV’s long-running sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is again in the spotlight for an intense altercation between its lead actor, Dilip Joshi, and producer Asit Kumar Modi.

According to media reports, Dilip Joshi, fondly known as Jethalal, confronted Asit Modi after a long-standing issue regarding leave escalated. Joshi had reportedly requested time off in August, but the producer repeatedly ignored his request. When Modi visited the sets, Joshi attempted to address the matter, but his efforts were dismissed, leading to a heated exchange. During the argument, tensions reportedly flared, so Joshi gripped Modi by the collar in frustration.

Despite the incident, sources confirm that the two have resolved their differences. However, this is not the first time such a clash has occurred. During an outdoor shoot in Hong Kong, a similar argument arose but was diffused thanks to the intervention of Gurucharan Singh Sodhi, another cast member at the time.

The show has been under scrutiny in recent years for various controversies. Multiple actors, including Shailesh Lodha, Jennifer Mistry, and most recently Palak Sidhwani, have exited the series, citing allegations of mistreatment and harassment by the producer.

While the incident between Joshi and Modi seems to have been settled, it adds to the growing list of off-screen challenges for the iconic sitcom.
