Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina has got mixed reviews from critics. It seems it has failed to pick up in non-metro areas. Jigra might make a little more than Rs 1.5 crore at the box office. Alia Bhatt has put in an impressive performance but the film fails to deliver a punch. Kangana Ranaut has now taken to Instagram and written, “When you destroy women-centric films and make sure they do not work, they won’t work even when you make them. Thanks.”

The film was already in a controversy after the filmmaker made a statement that Karan Johar had already sent the script to Alia Bhatt even before he could take a second look. Bala said what he meant was that he did not get to fine tune it, but people began to slam Karan Johar for nepotism. They said filmmakers do not even get a chance to choose from a few actors as all scripts of Dharma Productions are given straight away to Alia Bhatt. Kangana Ranaut has always been vocal against how Karan Johar is a leader when it comes to camps in Bollywood. She said talented people do not get a chance and the ones who do see that people are trying to sabotage their efforts.
She had also called him a mafia kingpin of Bollywood on the infamous Koffee With Karan episode. Saif Ali Khan was also with her. Kangana Ranaut’s movie Emergency has run into an issue with Censors. A new release date will be announced soon. Sikh bodies had been protesting against the movie saying it is discriminatory and hurts revered figures of Sikh history. Now, they have suggested some cuts in it.
Kangana Ranaut has made some nasty claims about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the recent past. She made a cryptic post which was thoroughly slammed by netizens. Jigra is a remake of Gumraah which was made by Yash Johar in 1993. The film starred Sridevi, Rahul Roy, Anupam Kher and Sanjay Dutt. Vasan Bala is one of the most acclaimed moviemakers of recent times.
