Biopic on Kapil Sharma confirmed; 'Fukrey' director to helm the film

Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma seems to be adding more and more feathers to his already illustrious cap. After being the topmost comedian in the country, he is also set to appear on Netflix where his comedy special 'I'm Not Done Yet' will be arriving by the end of January 2022.
And now, he is receiving probably what is the biggest honor possible as a biopic has been confirmed on the man. That's right. Kapil Sharma is set to have his own biopic made which is titled Funkaar. The film will be directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, who is best known for directing both the films of Fukrey franchise.
The film will be produced by Mahaveer Jain of Lyca Productions. With the comedy reality show, Sharma went on to be win multiple seasons and manage to carve out an impact that made him a household name. He took the big leap and went on to present his own show in the form of Comedy Nights with Kapil that had him enter the big league in every possible way.
Following that, his entry in films was a mixed bag but his set of drinking problems, fallout with Sunil Grover and other controversies put a small dent in his overall image. As of now, he continues to be leading The Kapil Sharma Show and it will be interesting to see what other facets will the biopic present.
