The two supremely talented actors Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana have teamed up to deliver some of the finest movies of their career graph together. The two have worked together in films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and recently in Bala.
The one aspect to take note about the choice of scripts of the two actors is that Bhumi and Ayushmann, both, are keen on taking up films that talk about societal issues and play unconventional characters on screen.
Talking of their camaraderie, Bhumi says, "Ayushmann and I are definitely a fortunate on-screen jodi to be getting so much love and adulation from the audiences. We complement each other as artistes and we do have a very good on-screen chemistry. It just shows and I'm just glad that people have loved us as a pair and we have just done three films together."
She talks about their journey, and the three films they have done together. She believes they have been paired together in films that talk about societal taboos and their pairing has been loved and appreciated by the audience as well.
"From Dum Laga Ke Haisha (dealing with body shaming), Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan (about erectile dysfunction) to Bala (about premature balding and the stereotyping that dark-skinned women face in India), we have only been paired in films that tackle taboo topics so I think the equity of our pairing lies in bringing out real, societal issues told in the most honest and entertaining manner possible," Bhumi added.
Speaking of Bala, the film has successfully crossed the Rs 100 Crore mark on the box office and is still standing strong.
