Baaghi 2 Movie Review: Tiger Shroff's One Man Army act is a Winner!

Without mincing words, action has got an all new meaning in Bollywood with this film but at the cost of its storyline.

Director: Ahmed Khan

Rating: 2.8/5

What happens when a Tiger Shroff stars in an action movie? A film like Baaghi 2 is made which runs high on its skilled-octane action drama.

The film rolls with Neha Salgaonkar (Disha Patani) getting beaten up by goons which end with the abduction of her 3-year-old daughter.

The entire movie locks around this mysterious incident. The story has taken a leap of 2 months, and then enters the hero of the film Ranveer Pratap Singh (Tiger Shroff) who obviously knocks some killer punches in his opening scene. Introduced as a Special Command Force officer, Ranveer like any other army personnel has an ardent respect and love for Bharat Mata. He roars like no other and is projected as the one-man army.

The story moves further when Ranveer (Tiger) then receives a call from an old friend Neha (Disha) who wants his help to find her kidnapped daughter. Ranveer (Tiger) then heads off to help her but without failing to reminisce his past with Neha (Disha Patani).

What follows is a line-up of dramatic suspense, heart-pounding action sequences, and a stupendous cast.

Tiger as Ranveer Pratap Singh has done his job in making the dreadful action to appear on-point. Although he remains expressionless in few scenes; his attitude and the fights balance it out for him. While co-star Disha Patani as Neha Salgaonkar is a damsel in dis-stress in this film. She appears emotionless in most of her scenes and fails to connect the audience with her act.

The two's much-hoped chemistry is a major disappointment.

Manoj Bajpayee as Ajay Shergill the DIP of Goa Police is introduced in the first half and instantly gains our interest in the film. His witty dialogues with his categorical performance call for a clap-worthy act.  Randeep Hooda as the unique police officer proves to be a refreshing character in the film. With some swag and charas, his character gives some impeccable humour to the second half.

Other characters like Deepak Dobriyal as and Prateik Babbar as Sunny Salgaonkar have been top-notch as the supporting cast.

Apart from having a strong ensemble cast like this, director Ahmed Khan tries to cover the loose story with convincing action mania in the film. With a mediocre plotline, Khan excels in offering a stunt show at the expense of a decent story.

Final Verdict:

Elements like Action, Drama, and Suspense are par excellence in this film but a not-so-convincing and haywire storyline with Disha's emotionless performance makes this film nothing but a good stunt show!
