Anushka Sharma sells her maternity clothes for a good cause: Details inside

Celebrity couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomed their first child on January 11, 2021 and named their daughter Vamika.

Anushka had set an example with her maternity style and fitness during her pregnancy. Now the actress has decided to put up her maternity clothes on sale for a good cause.

The new mommy hopes to kickstart a 'circular economy' in the 'fashion system' with her move as all proceeds from her online sale will go towards supporting maternal health, and save 2.5 lakh litres of water. While speaking to a leading portal, Anushka Sharma said:

"This is a very simple way that each of us can live kinder lives. By sharing pieces back into the circular fashion system and shopping preloved, we have a huge positive impact on the environment. During my pregnancy, I thought this phase in our lives is uniquely suited to participate in the circular economy. So I hope we can kickstart this ecosystem together.”

The actress urges mom to be women to opt for pre loved maternity clothes as it can help in conservation of resources. She added:

“For instance, if even just one percent of pregnant women in urban India bought one piece of preloved maternity clothing over newly manufactured, each year we can conservatively save about as much water as a person drinks in over 200 years! This is a way in which a small action of each individual can make a real difference."

While it’s been few months since Vamika arrived, her celebrity parents have decided to take their sweet little time to introduce their babygirl to the media. 

Back in January, after welcoming their first child Vamika, Anushka and Virat had issued a notice to the paparazzi requesting them to not click and carry their daughter's photo in the media.
