Alia Bhatt's character in Aashiqui 2 REVEALED!

It seems to be a favorable time for Alia Bhatt as all her hard work that she put in throughout the year is reaping her sweet fruits. Her dedication towards her characters in her films 'Dear Zindagi' and 'Udta Punjab' hasn't gone unnoticed as she bagged the 'Best Actress' and Star Plus 'Nayi Soch' Award at the Star Screen Awards that were held yesterday in Mumbai.

Coming back to her upcoming project Aashiqui 3 that will be helmed by director Mohit Suri who had also directed the previous installment Ashiqui 2. A lot of speculations about Alia's role in the film has been making rounds, to put an end to all of it here we have the latest update for our readers.

Filmmaker Mohit Suri has now confirmed that Alia will be seen playing the role of a singer in Aashiqui 3. He said, "Since it is part of the Aashiqui franchise, Alia is playing a singer." (sic)

Mohit is reported to be currently shooting for Half Girlfriend with Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor and is skeptical about when will Aashiqui 3 go on floors. He is said to be making some changes to Sidharth's character and it's Alia's sister Shaheen herself who is writing the script for the film.

Last two installments from the franchise have been huge hit, so there is a lot of pressure on the makers as everyone has high hopes from the film.

Also, it would be for the first time when the real-life couple, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra are coming together in lead role.

More entertainment is on it's way but for now all we can do is wait and watch!
