Alia, Anushka come out in support of 'voiceless'
Actresses Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma have condemned the "ridiculous" and "heinous" act by two medical students who threw a dog from the roof top of a multi-storeyed building. They said serious action should be taken against them.

The two students -- Gautam Sudarshan and Ashish Paul -- of Madha Medical College from Chennai, were arrested and let out on bail on July 6 for the act.
The video of the incident, recently uploaded on social media, wrung the hearts of even the strongest as it showed a youth on the roof-top of a multi-storeyed building holding a dog which he then cold-bloodedly threw off.
"This is absolutely ridiculous! I am appalled! These two medical students have thrown a puppy off the roof for fun," Alia wrote on Twitter.
"The dog was rushed to the hospital luckily and has survived but the fine for the murderous act is just Rs 50," she added.
Anushka too condemned the act and tweeted: "This heinous act is a mirror shown to the society we ('educated') people live in. Punishment for this should be serious.
"You can harm a voiceless puppy, pay a Rs 50 fine and be free of your crime? Is this the world you want children to witness and grow up in?
"Lot of people think human lives are more important. It's sad. Being humane is using your intellect that gods gifted us to make this world a better place," the "Sultan" actress added.
The dog was later located by animal rights activist Shravan Krishnan. The dog had suffered fractures on its two legs and has been given medical attention.

I want to know if these two ( and everyone else who speaks against this ) are vegetarian. Killing animals for human consumption is no less "heinous" than this.

They should not be called humans and even animals as animals do have feelings for other beings. Dogs especially are such loving creatures. These are devils in disguise. Hope they don't become doctors.

Chiii! Such inhumane monsters are medicine students?? Pray that those two boys never become doctors and never be happy in their lives. Hope those two get exactly same treatment they did to the dog. People who tortures innocent animals they are most cruel persons ever. Hope the dog gets speedy recovery and all the fractures get healed as soon as possible.

Hate those cruel monsters...I just hate abusing people but those two deserve all the curses and death sentence for attempting to kill an innocent life...This world is disgusting where we have such people breathing among us. Praise the Lord that the dog survived...Hope he gets well soon.

God save the patients who will be trusting these 2 characters with their lives. Please DO NOT allow these monsters to pass the medical board. As for punishment, they should be made to do community service for a year..

@Sky_Fighter Any person who treats animals cruelly obviously won't treat humans any better. In fact statistically, such people are proven psychopaths with absolute criminal tendencies that have no real feelings for anyone be it humans or animals. They simply dont say that a person true nature depends on how he treats an animal for nothing!! So if you dont care then it clearly reflects your mentality as well but unlike you most of us care about against both animals and other humans!!

That video is complete nightmare. They are medical students and one day they are supposed to save lives!! But they are nothing but monsters. Every life is valuable, be it human or animal. I hope one day they will get their due. Good to see Alia and Anushka are protesting against this sick behavior.

I hope both these two die the most torturous death and never be happy in life even for a second! They deserve the worst on earth. Speedy recovery to the puppy, hope he feels well soon. Expected that from anushka! Good to see they're both humane enough to raise these issues too!
