Akshay-Dhanush-Sara starrer 'Atrangi Re' goes for a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix

It is rather contrasting to say the least. On one hand, we have constant news coming out about theaters all set to reopen in Maharashtra and other metro cities from 22nd October 2021 onwards. After this piece of news, some of the biggest films are set to be rolling and went on to announce their new release dates as well. Starting from Sooryavanshi having a Diwali release to a film like Heropanti 2 getting an April 2022 release, a long line-up films is already planning a mega theatrical release at the soonest.

But on the other hand, it seems some films and the makers attached to it aren't entirely convinced with the idea of releasing films in theatres as of now. A big film and a multi-starrer like Atrangi Re that has Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan is setting up for a digital release. That's right. The Anand Rai-directed film is set to be having a release on Netflix soon.

Even though an official date hasn't been confirmed as of yet but the film will indeed be arriving on Netflix, according to LetsOTT GLOBAL

Apart from the aforementioned names, the film also reunites director Rai with music legend, A R Rahman where they last worked on the superhit, Raanjhana. The film also reunites the collaboration of director Rai with actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub where they have worked together in every film Rai has directed since Tanu Weds Manu.

We are definitely looking forward to Atrangi Re, be it on Netflix or theaters.
