Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam' franchise secures Hollywood deal

Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam, is expanding its reach to global audiences following its immense success in India and China. Producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak recently announced a Hollywood adaptation of the thriller franchise, marking a significant milestone. Panorama Studios, Gulfstream Pictures, and JOAT Films have joined forces to bring Drishyam to English-speaking audiences worldwide, a first for an Indian film.
Gulfstream Pictures, known for producing popular films like "Blended" and "Upgraded," brings its expertise to the project, while JOAT Films, specializing in cross-territorial local language remakes, contributes its industry experience.
Panorama Studios secured the international remake rights to both Drishyam films from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas.
Plans are underway to develop adaptations in the US, Korea, and potentially Spanish-speaking markets, with other countries also being considered.
Kumar Mangat Pathak expressed excitement about the opportunity to share Drishyam's universally appealing narrative with audiences worldwide. Abhishek Pathak emphasized the strength of the franchise's story and the desire to entertain global audiences.
In a joint statement, Mike Karz and Bill Bindley of Gulfstream Pictures expressed their enthusiasm for bringing Drishyam to US audiences, highlighting the film's timeless appeal.
While the Korean and English versions are in the making, the remake of the Malayalam film has had a successful run in various languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Sinhala and Chinese.
