Ahana Kumra opens up on working with Madhur Bhandarkar in 'India Lockdown'

ZEE5, India's recently released the trailer of its latest original film ‘India Lockdown’. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the direct-to-digital movie, is the first Hindi feature film on covid pandemic and its repercussions on the people of India. And the series will see popular actor Ahana Kumra in one of the pivotal role.

Ahana will be seen playing a pivotal role of a pilot, a fiercely independent woman who hustles her way, has a luxurious, thriving career and everything comes to a standstill when the pandemic hits. Her story will talks about how she overcomes loneliness and how she tries to find companionship during lockdown.

'Talking about the character and working with ace Producer Madhur Bhandarkar she mentioned, "He is someone who you can relate with because he has made hard hitting reality stories and films. He doesn’t mince his words and is up to date with the reality of life. He’s in touch with everyone whether it’s the watchman, plumber or the higher circle of the industry. He has made a very large variety of films and I love that fact about him. He writes roles for women who a person wouldn’t see regularly on a cellulite. There was never a film made on Fashion and he made it very beautifully or Chandni Bar."

Talking more about the same, "All his stories are a reflection of the world which people should know about. He has pulled up some fantastic actresses in the mainstream cinema. It’s an absolute win-win situation for him. Filmmakers usually struggle to make films on things happening around us which is a reality of life and still not able to talk about the subject. His process is really simple, he makes the set a lot of fun behind the monitor and makes sure that you’re eating and makes sure that everyone on set is having fun while working.  The work that happens on set is between action and cut. It’s very important to do that and the reason why we all came on-board was to have fun while working and while making our career. He’s making serious cinema but he’s not at all a serious person and makes people feel at home even when they’re working with him. His mantra is very simple and that is to enjoy and relish the process. His cinema is interesting because he engages with his actors."
