Huma Qureshi has once again captivated viewers with her powerful performance in Mithya: The Darker Chapter on ZEE5, where she brings to life a complex and multidimensional character. Throughout her illustrious career, Huma has carefully selected roles that reflect moral values and deliver impactful narratives, often imparting meaningful lessons to her audience.
As she continues to evolve as an artist, a pressing question emerges: does she consciously choose roles that focus on moral integrity and character growth?
I strive to portray characters where women have a voice—it’s not just about being right or wrong

When asked if these factors influence her script selection, she openly responded, "Of course, I look at these factors while selecting my characters, but it’s not always necessary to play roles that are entirely morally upright. Many characters I’ve played are viewed as positive and morally right, and I’m glad that viewers have accepted me in those roles—that’s a wonderful thing! Having said that, I strive to portray characters where women have a voice—it’s not just about being right or wrong. What matters is that my character has an opinion, as I do in ‘Mithya."
In Mithya: The Darker Chapter, the rivalry between Juhi (Huma Qureshi) and Rhea (Avantika Dassani) takes centre stage, escalating when it is revealed that they are half-sisters. As Juhi, a successful author, faces troubling allegations of plagiarism from an elusive writer, long-hidden family secrets emerge, igniting jealousy and resentment. Directed by Kapil Sharma and produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Rose Audio Visual Production, this season boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Rajit Kapur, Indraneil Sengupta, Avantika Akerkar, Rushad Rana, and Krishna Bisht in pivotal roles.
