'Adipurush' Screening: Kriti Sanon dazzles in elegant anarkali; poses with her parents - Pics

The highly anticipated mythological drama, "Adipurush," based on the epic Ramayana, is finally hitting theaters worldwide on Friday, June 16. Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Om Raut, the movie stars the pan-Indian superstar Prabhas as the protagonist Raghava, also known as Lord Ram. Kriti Sanon, the popular Bollywood actress, portrays the role of Sita, also known as Janaki, in the film.

To celebrate the film's grand theatrical release, the makers of "Adipurush" organized a special screening event in Mumbai on Thursday, June 15, exclusively for the cast, crew, and their families. Lead actor Prabhas and main antagonist Saif Ali Khan, who portrays the role of Lankesh, unfortunately missed the screening due to their busy schedules.

Kriti Sanon, the film's leading lady, looked enchanting in a peacock blue anarkali suit as she attended the screening. Complementing her attire with minimal accessories, straight hair, and dewy makeup, the actress was accompanied by her parents Rahul Sanon and Geeta Sanon, her younger sister Nupur Sanon, and her boyfriend Stebin Ben. The actress's proud parents were visibly thrilled as they arrived at the venue with their daughters and interacted with the paparazzi photographers.

As many are aware, "Adipurush" revolves around the epic tale of Raghava, the king of Ayodhya, who confronts Lankesh, the king of Lanka, after the latter abducts his beloved wife Janaki. Alongside Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon, the Om Raut directorial boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Devadatta Nage as Hanuman, Vatsal Seth, Sonal Chauhan, and others. "Adipurush" is produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles.

Originally scheduled for release in January 2023, "Adipurush" faced a delay to June following criticism from audiences regarding its special effects in the initial trailer. However, the recently released trailer suggests that director Om Raut and his team have extensively reworked the CGI and special effects over the past six months, promising a better version of the Prabhas-starrer.
