Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra to Star in Cross-Cultural Romcom ‘Param Sundari’ – Reports

Recent reports suggest that Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are teaming up for a romantic comedy titled Param Sundari. Initially, the actors were expected to feature in a thriller. However, they ultimately decided to work together on a lighter, romantic project. This film is set to be directed by Tushar Jalota, best known for Dasvi (2022), which starred Abhishek Bachchan.

The film will bring Malhotra and Kapoor together in a story about two contrasting personalities. According to Mid Day, Malhotra will play a sophisticated, wealthy business tycoon from Delhi, while Kapoor will portray a modern artist from Kerala, known for her strong values and opinions. The story unfolds as the two characters, despite their differences, find themselves falling in love.

This is the first collaboration between Malhotra and Kapoor, marking a new on-screen pairing for fans to look forward to. Pre-production has already begun, and filming is expected to start in December. The first schedule will reportedly take place in Delhi, focusing on Malhotra’s character, followed by scenes in Kerala, before moving to specially designed sets in Mumbai.

The Mumbai sets will include two elaborate designs: one depicting a spacious Delhi home and the other recreating the earthy interiors typical of Kerala. This design approach is expected to highlight the cultural backgrounds of both characters, adding depth to the cross-cultural narrative. The filming is projected to conclude by February 2025.

Sheetal Sharma, known for her work on Munjya and Stree 2, is the costume designer for the project. She recently completed look tests for both Malhotra and Kapoor.

Interestingly, the film’s title, Param Sundari, is inspired by Kriti Sanon’s popular song from Mimi (2021), sparking rumors that Sanon might make a cameo. However, the producers have not confirmed her involvement.
