Aamir Khan Opens Up About Remarriage, "I don’t want to live alone"

Aamir Khan, the 59-year-old Bollywood superstar, is often in the spotlight not just for his films but also for his personal life. Having been married twice—first to Reena Dutta in 1986 and later to Kiran Rao in 2005—Aamir has experienced his fair share of ups and downs in relationships. His first marriage ended in 2002, and his second in 2022, yet he maintains strong bonds with both of his ex-wives. Recently, during a candid conversation on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Aamir spoke about the possibility of remarriage.

When asked about remarrying, Aamir was realistic about the challenges. He remarked, "I’m 59 now, abhi kahan shaadi karunga, mushkil laga raha hai." He expressed that while he enjoys companionship, the idea of remarrying at this stage of his life seems difficult. Despite the divorces, Aamir emphasized that his relationships with Reena and Kiran remain strong, stating, "At this point, I’m very close to Reena, I’m very close to Kiran. We are one family."

The actor also shared his thoughts on loneliness, admitting, "I don’t want to live alone. I want a partner. I’m not a loner. I like companionship." Aamir’s candidness about his personal life offers a glimpse into his values and the importance he places on family and close relationships. He mentioned how he has reconnected with his family, including his children, Junaid and Ira, from his first marriage, and his son, Azad, from his marriage with Kiran.

Despite his hesitance to give relationship advice, Aamir’s reflections show a man who values love and companionship deeply, even after facing challenges in his own marriages. He acknowledged, "Life has no guarantees. You can’t be sure of even a single day. I can’t trust my own life, how can I trust someone else’s life?"

On the professional front, Aamir Khan is preparing for his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, where he reunites with Darsheel Safary. The film also stars Genelia D’Souza and promises to be another milestone in Aamir’s illustrious career.
