"Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye" is a Hindi-language romantic drama series that premiered on Zee TV on November 27, 2023. Produced by Mukta Dhond and B.P. Singh under Fireworks Productions, the show features Sriti Jha and Arjit Taneja in leading roles.
Amruta Jayesh Chitnis is in no rush to tie the knot; she believes in finding the right partner who is understanding and compatible. Conversely, after being betrayed in past relationships, Virat Singh Ahuja has been disillusioned by love. He harbours a cynical view, believing love and relationships are superficial and all women are motivated by money.
The series chronicles the unlikely love story between these two individuals with contrasting personalities.
Amruta, a banker, resides with her father, Jayesh, mother, Bhavani, and brother Harsh. On her parents' 30th wedding anniversary, she attends the affluent Ahuja family's engagement ceremony (roka). Nimrit, one of the heirs, is engaged, while Virat is responsible for organizing the event. During the ceremony, Babita, their mother, asks Amruta to transfer a substantial sum of money to the groom's account, Rajiv, as a "roka gift." While making the transfer, she discusses with Harsh over the phone how wealthy families often use such transactions as disguised dowry payments. Unbeknownst to her, this conversation is overheard by the Ahujas, leaving them with a very unfavourable impression of her.
The Ahujas relocate to a penthouse close to Amruta's apartment, intensifying the tension between the two families. Adding to the turmoil, it uncovered that Jayesh, Amruta's father, is having an affair with Ishika, their new neighbour and Babita's acquaintance. On the same eventful day, Jayesh shocks everyone by expressing his desire to divorce his wife, whom he deems dull, in favour of living with Ishika. He assumes his children will side with him, but they stand by their mother. Together, they move into the home of Jahaan Kaur, a compassionate neighbour.
Having been terminated from her job at the bank by Virat, Amruta loses her sole means of supporting her mother, a homemaker, and her brother, a student. However, through reluctantly leveraging information to expose the Ahujas' questionable practices, she secures her job back, unbeknownst to the rest of the Ahuja family. The condition for her reinstatement is that she serves as Virat's assistant and obeys his commands.
Meanwhile, Amruta's parents' marriage hits a rocky patch when Jayesh confesses his desire for divorce due to his dissatisfaction with Bhavani, who refuses to leave her home for the sake of her children.
Virat, intent on driving Amruta away from her job, employs various tactics, but she remains resolute. Rajiv, Nimrit's fiancé, holds a grudge against Amruta for her judgmental stance on dowry. Seeking revenge, he orchestrates harassment against her during his bachelor's party, further souring relations.
Amruta discovers evidence of Rajiv's infidelity and endeavours to expose his true character despite Nimrit's decision to marry him. Dildar and Virat oppose this union, opting to teach Rajiv a lesson by treating him as a daughter-in-law upon his marriage to Nimrit.
Jayesh's affair with Ishika adds fuel to the family's turmoil. Aaji, Jayesh's traditionalist mother, inadvertently exacerbates tensions by revealing Virat's divorce secret during Makar Sankranti celebrations, leading to a rift between Virat and Amruta.
Virat retaliates by exposing Jayesh and Ishika's affair to Aaji, resulting in broken engagements and hearts. Matters worsen when Ishika manipulates a situation to frame Amruta for an incident, tarnishing her reputation and leading to her resignation. Despite Dildar's sympathy, Virat ensures Amruta's professional downfall.
As Amruta prepares to depart for a job opportunity in Delhi, Virat falsely implicates her in a theft, resulting in her arrest. In reality, Rajiv and Tara are the culprits behind the robbery, orchestrating Amruta's demise to conceal their actions.
Amidst adversity, Virat witnesses Amruta's plight and rushes her to the hospital after a severe allergic reaction. With the help of Abhiraj, Virat's cousin, Amruta proves her innocence and exposes the actual perpetrators.
However, Ishika's fraudulent takeover of Jahan Kaur's house devastates Amruta's family. Convinced of Virat's involvement, Amruta confronts him, leading to a tense confrontation. Despite Virat's attempts to assist behind the scenes, Amruta takes matters into her own hands, reclaiming her family's rights.
As tensions ease and relationships mend, a new alliance forms between Amruta and Virat, much to the displeasure of their families. Meanwhile, Babita seizes opportunities to humiliate the Chitnis family, culminating in Ishika and Jayesh's marriage amidst their celebrations.
Amidst these trials, Bhavani finds solace and strength in the support of her family and friends. As Amruta's prospects brighten, Abhiraj plots revenge with Ishika and Rajvi, complicating matters further.
