Veteran actor Rajendra Gupta plays Dadaji - Ayodhya Singh, the patriarch of the Singh family. He is respected and feared by all three families but Ayodhya Singh’s vulnerable side is a rarity. He has a typical feudal mindset and doesn’t believe that girls should be given too much freedom. No one raises any questions to his decision or go against his final word. Rajendra Gupta has acted in numerous television shows like Kuchh Is Tara, Kanyadaan, Nukkad, Chanakyashaashtra and Chandrakaanta among many others. His name is also included in the Limca Book of Records for appearing in the most number of television serials – over 40 of them. Inspite of portraying important characters in many films and television shows, theatre is Gupta's first love. Along with noted actress Neena Gupta, Rajendra runs a production company - Sahaj Productions.
Pooja is Satyaprakash’s late younger brother’s daughter. She comes to Banaras to pursue her education but is later adopted by Satyaprakash after her parents pass away in an unfortunate accident. Inspite of being close to Sapna, Pooja doesn’t share her grief with anybody. She still feels the trauma and pain of her parent’s loss but doesn’t express her true feelings. Pooja always feels indebted to the Chaturvedi family for giving her a shelter and home. As a result she is ever willing to sacrifice her personal happiness for the sake of the family, putting behind her own needs.
AS: Sapna
Daughter of Sushma and Satyaprakash Chaturvedi, Sapna loves to dream and fantasise about her ‘sapno ka rajkumar’. This 20 year old is very attractive, lively and talkative. Sapna is very confident that one day her prince charming will take her away to a beautiful fantasy world. She is not fond of studies and is closest to Pooja who does all her homework.
