Director Prawaal Raman who came up with the daringly different Darna Mana Hai last year comes up with his next film for the Varma Corp. Though based on the theme of an invisible human, the film is not a remake of the Bollywood blockbuster Mr India or the Hollywood hit Hollow Man. Prawaal Raman's version has his own uncanny touch!

Vishnu Prasad (Tusshar Kapoor) is a loser in life. Lacking self-confidence and the attitude to lead a life, things always go wrong with him. Having an unmatched knack of attracting problems, his life doesn't get any easier courtesy a nagging mother (Rasika Joshi) who takes pride in beating up Vishnu given a slightest opportunity! His father (Raghuir Yadav), who is a henpecked husband, is petrified to raise a voice, let alone take his side. His friends show their concern by designating him as the undisputed king of idiots. Mohini (Antra Mali), the love of his life doesn't even know his existence and her boyfriend (Ramman Trikha) wants to break his bones.

Taunted as a good-for-nothing by all, he once complains to God that nobody likes him and he would be better off if he were invisible.
And to his surprise God makes him invisible!
What happens next?
You have to
UNSEE to UNBELIEVE!

One can say Gayab starts from the point where Prawaal Raman's last film Darna Mana Hai ended (the Aftab Shivdasani episode where the guy is endowed with special powers). If everything goes fine and upto expectations, this could certainly be the climax in Tusshar Kapoor's career.

The film has music by Ajay-Atul and Amar Mohile while the latter has even composed the background score. Huzefa Lokhandwala of Prime Focus has done the special effects for the film.

The film is slated for a July 2004 release.
