Note: Mishti’s medical reports were never any problematicand she is perfectly fine in this story. Also, Abir isn’t as desperate tobecome a father yet lol and meenu isn’t bad anymore. I had written this fewweeks back, so kuhu is also not a vamp.

She was making the only recipe she knew. chocolate cake! After all, cooking was not her forte. But she was still learning. These days,she was spending time with parul maasi to learn some of the traditional gujrati dishes and some of his favorite dishes too. But alas, did he care? At least that’s what she thought. Even though her mind kept telling her, she shouldn’t have left angrily that morning.
She could not help it though and she had a very good reason for her temper. These past few weeks were difficult for her. After ketki’s broken marriage and her own trauma from that incident with karan and then some initial court hearings to put varun behind the bars, she took deliberate efforts to overcome her fears. And with everyone in the family loving her and caring for her,including kuhu who started to actually be less difficult to her, helped. And then Meenakshi rajvansh, who’s now possessive motherly instincts included Mishtiin it too, made sure she was out of her misery soon. 😳
Ever since then, she and Abir planned to spend more time with each other, and do those little things that made them happy. Late evening drives, numerous outings, their monthly anniversary dates and then spending most of the nights in each other’s arms making love. All this was taking its own sweet toll on her. She was glowing and yes, she was late!! For the first time in her life, she was late!! By 5 days. 5 freaking days!! And her ajeeb rajvansh was still in his own little bubble to notice anything. Of course, she hadn’t taken a test yet but she was already freaking out.
“arre abir beta, tum itni jaldi aa gaye” her bade papa’s voice broke her trance and she came out of the kitchen. She was anyway feeling little nauseated, another sign she feared.
“Ye yaha kya kar raha hai itni jaldi?” she wondered.
“woh bade papa, mujhe aaj kuch zyada kaam nahi tha, toh maine socha aap logo ki aur mere bro ki thodi si help kar du.” He said earning a broad smile from kuhu. However, his awkward glance at mishti did not escape their badi ma’s eyes. Varsha, who was very excited to spend some quality time with both the girls was not as happy with this unexceed entry though. She pulled kuhu and whispered, “thodi der ke liye toh humein hamari betiyon ke sath akela chod de unke husbands”. This made badi ma glare at her and mishti chuckle lightly at her family’s frustration. They knew that, now abir was here, she wont get as much alone time with them. Because they all knew, abir would capture all her attention no matter what.
But today seemed something different. Mishti’s eyes didn’t sparkle as much as they would seeing abir every time. She made an excuse and went upstairs to her old room in this house. This again did not escape from badi ma’s attention. She came to abir’s rescue who was looking around nervously as if he was a punished child standing outside a classroom. She came near him,“abir beta, tum bhi jakar fresh ho jao mishti ke room me. Hum log tab tak nashta lagate hain. Fir aram se kaam karna thik hai?” at that he wanted to actually hug badi ma tightly and say “love you badi ma” but he just decided to smile and nod.
*Upstairs in mishti’s room*
She heard him open the door. “tum yaha kya kar rahe ho Abir?”
“interview dene aya hoon.” Dare he. But before she could saysomething, he continued. “suna hai aapke yaha kisi ko chef ki zarurat hai. aur salary bhi acchi milegi. Upar se suna hai, boss bohot khubsurat bhi hai.” 😳 he was trying his best to make her smile. And she did. Finally. A small smile came on her lips, hearing him talk nonsense things to lighten her mood.
“finally. Thank god, tum hassi toh. Main darr hi gaya tha.Subah jo hua, I am so sorry Mishti, main wo..” but she just turned and hugged him tightly, and he understood he need not say more.
“tum sorry mat bolo abir. I know I am being difficult lately. But I wanted to tell you something.” She finally decided to share the secret that had got her scared and panicked.
“kya?” he curiously asked. He was relieved that she wasn't anry anymore but what else was botering her, he wondered.
“I know we did not really talk about this yet, but..i..ermm.. I am late” there. She said it. Closing her eyes tightly as if opening them would make anything change. She was just too scared to see his expressions.
He looked at his watch, puzzled “No mishti, there is still time for you to bake the cake. Tum kaha late ho?” he wasn’t getting it. Clearly!
She wanted to facepalm at this but decided to stay cool. “Tum anjan ho? Chote baby ho? Stupid ho? Nahi ho toh nasamajh kyun ban rahe ho? arre budhhu rajvansh, I am late matlab, my period is late. Main shayad preganant hoon.”
“toh kya hua” he blurted. He still hurried to answer. But looking at her annoyed, scared and irritated expression, he finally processed what he heard. “main shayad preganant hoon’. Is that what she just said? Did that mean, they were going to have a baby? soon?. “WHAT?” he nearly shouted, dumbstruck. “tum pregnant ho?” however,at that exact moment, badi ma and Varsha had come there to call them for breakfast. Badi ma’s happiness instantly knew no bounds. This probably could be her best gift. She immediately wanted to go and hug her Gudiya rani. But stopped in her tracks. Probably they needed some privacy. So she signaled Varsha and they left without making their presence felt with delighted faces.
“I am not sure yet abir. Maine test nahi liya abhi.” Wasn’t he hearing right? There was no conclusion yet. It could be just hormones.Please let this be hormones, she prayed.
“par yeh kaise ho sakta hai mishti? We decided to wait right?” he was still trying to process.
“and you think I wanted to have a baby right now? “now, she was on the verge of tears. As if it wasn’t enough that she was freaking out,now abir was being difficult too. How could he think she did this deliberately? Tears making their way from her eyes to her face. She started feeling little dizzy. Was this stress or another sign?
He understood this wasn’t a right time to panic. Especially not at her parents’ house. He made her sit on the bed and took her hands in his “hey, its ok. Its alright…we’ll take the test and then talk about this ok? Right now, lets just keep this aside and be with badi ma. its her birthday. Ok?Come on.”
He pulled her in his embrace. Her safest place on the earth. Hearing his heartbeat. ❤️ That calmed her down. She took deep breath and thought about what he said. Now that he knew, she felt at peace. Maybe they can talk about it when they have to cross that bridge. But now wasn’t the time. And so, with that she took his hand and decided to be there for her badi ma’s happiness for a day.

you are the first to comment 🤗 thank you 😳 haha ho jata hai kabhi kabhi 😆 ppl get carried away and precautions are not 100% right (some of them work only 97% of the time 😛) 😈
