PART - 7

Ruhi felt a blend of frustration and helplessness as she observed the growing closeness between Abhir and Abhira. Their playful banter and sibling-like bond made her feel like an outsider. Despite her efforts to mend her relationship with Abhir, nothing seemed to work. Abhir treated Abhira like a younger sister, always siding with her during arguments with Armaan. He even caught them in romantic moments, teasing Armaan like an older brother would.
There were days when Abhir, Abhira, Armaan, and the Chorus Gang would watch movies, share lunches, and enjoy dinners together. It wasn't just Armaan who noticed; the Chorus Gang also observed the striking similarities between Abhir and Abhira, from their humor to their playful arguments. Their bond was unmistakable, almost as if they were siblings.
Abhira was working tirelessly on Abhir’s case, and he was genuinely impressed by her dedication. Meanwhile, Ruhi’s resentment toward Abhira deepened; to her, Abhira had taken everything away from her—Armaan’s attention, the affection of Bnanu, who already treated her like a child, and now even Abhir’s admiration. Ruhi felt increasingly isolated as Abhira seemed to win everyone’s hearts.
One day, Abhir went to the outhouse to meet Abhira, but she wasn’t there. Just as he was about to leave, he ran into Charu, who invited him to the Poddar House. Initially hesitant, he couldn’t bring himself to say no to her. He had been feeling drawn to Charu lately, but he couldn’t understand why she wasn’t working despite having studied law. On the other hand, he knew Ruhi would be at the Poddar House, and he was trying to avoid her.
As Abhir entered the Poddar House, KP noticed him and offered him some tea. Meanwhile, Ruhi found out that Abhir was there and made another attempt to talk to him. Just then, Abhira and Armaan returned and walked into the middle of a heated argument between Ruhi and Abhir. Ruhi was pleading her case, trying to reason with him about what she had done wrong to deserve his treatment. Despite the fact that Abhir's mother had been responsible for Ruhi's mother’s death, here was Ruhi, trying to mend their relationship even though she felt completely at a loss.
Ruhi: Bola na mane kya kiya hai, meri kya galti hai in sabme, galat tho mere saath hua hai"
Abhir: "kya galat hua hai tumhare saath, Ruhi tumhe idea bhi nahi hai tumne kiya kya hai"
Ruhi:"Kya kiya hai mane" bolo kya kiya hai mane,
"I have been wronged! Your mother killed my mother, and you expect me to believe I have done wrong?" Ruhi's voice trembled with frustration. "How can you not see the injustice in this?"
Abhir: Unable to contain his anger, Abhir shot back, "My mother didn’t kill your mother! She wasn’t the reason behind your mother’s death!" His voice was firm, a mix of frustration and hurt spilling over.
Ruhi: "Massi herself admitted she caused the accident, and yet you still say she’s innocent!" Ruhi's voice rose in disbelief. "How can you ignore the truth right in front of you?"
Abhir: "Because it is anything but the truth! She is not responsible for Aroohi Massi's death," Abhir insisted, his frustration boiling over. "You can't just take one confession and ignore everything else!"
Ruhi: "If she isn’t, then who is responsible?" Ruhi demanded, her voice shaking with emotion. "Tell me, who is responsible for my mother’s death?"
Abhir, unable to contain his anger, shouted, "YOU!"
Ruhi looked confused and asked, "What?"
"You heard me," Abhir replied fiercely. "It’s you who killed your own mother! My mom saved you and took the blame for your actions!"
Everyone at the Poddar House was stunned by Abhir's words. Ruhi, unable to control her anger, shouted, "Enough, Abhir! How dare you blame me for my mother’s death? I was just a kid!"
Abhir shot back, "That’s the problem—you were a kid. To save you from the guilt of what happened, my mom took the blame on herself so you could have a childhood without that burden."
Ruhi shook her head defiantly. "You’re lying! I don’t believe you!"
Abhir's voice steadied as he continued, "I’m just stating facts, Ruhi. Let’s try to revive your memory. Do you remember that day the accident happened? Do you recall why Aroohi Massi scolded you before she left for shopping with everyone?"
Abhir leaned in, his gaze intense. "Tell me, Ruhi, do you remember?"
Ruhi nodded, her expression shifting. "Yes, I do. She was scolding me because I was being stubborn about driving the car since my friend had also tried driving the car."
Abhir pressed on, "And do you remember what happened next?"
Ruhi replied, "Yes, Massi came in and saved me from my mom's scolding."
Abhir continued, "Then what happened?"
Ruhi sighed, "Then I left with everyone for shopping."
Abhir asked, "You went shopping with everyone, right? But then why was everyone searching for you? Who found you, and where?"
Ruhi shifted uncomfortably, her expression changing as the memories flooded back. "I… I don’t know. We were all together, and then… things got chaotic."
Abhir urged, "Try to recollect what happened. Or should I help you?"
Ruhi's gaze shifted, a flicker of realization passing through her eyes as she hesitated, trying to piece the memories together. "I remember… but it’s all so jumbled."
Abhir continued, "Let’s try this: You were all enjoying pani puri when suddenly everyone realized you were missing. Everyone—Massi, Mumma, Mimi, Badi Nani, Chachi Maa, and Bumi—was looking for you."
Ruhi’s expression turned serious as she struggled to remember. "Yes, I think… but."
Abhir pressed on, "Then Mumma found you. Where were you, Ruhi? Tell me where you were." After a brief pause, he added, "You were in the car. Do you remember?"
Ruhi's eyes widened as the memory returned. "Yes… I was in the car. But I didn’t drive! Massi stopped me and said I could drive when I was older. I know I was being stubborn, but she forcefully took me out and handed me over to Muskaan Mami, who then took me to Mimi. So how could I have caused the accident?"
Abhir explained, "When Mumma was trying to take you out of the car, you were holding the parking brake and pulled it down. After Mumma handed you to Buami, since the car was on a slope and you had released the brake, the car started moving down the slope."
"When Mumma turned and saw the car was moving down, she panicked. She spotted Aroohi Massi at the other end and ran toward the car, calling out for Massi to move aside, but it was too late. When she couldn’t stop the car, she somehow managed to get inside and tried to pull the brake, but it didn’t work. By then, it was too late—the car hit Massi, and we all know what happened next."

Part - 8
Ruhi stood frozen, her face pale as the words sank in. The Poddars exchanged glances, equally stunned.
“You’re lying!” Ruhi’s voice cracked, her eyes blazing. “Did you hear me? You are lying! I haven’t done any such thing!”
Her heart pounded as Abhir’s accusation echoed in her mind. She stepped forward, her voice trembling with both anger and disbelief.
“Massi… she killed my mother!” Ruhi’s breath quickened. “She didn’t even try to save her! Don’t you dare put the blame on me!”
Abhir’s voice was low but sharp, cutting through the tension like a knife.
“If I’m lying,” he challenged, stepping closer, “then tell me—how did Mumma get the car keys when the car belonged to Arohi Massi?”
Ruhi’s eyes widened, but she couldn’t find words fast enough.
“She found you in the car, didn’t she?” Abhir pressed on, his gaze never leaving hers. “You were in the driver’s seat, trying to start the car. Don’t act like you don’t remember.”
Ruhi’s voice wavered, but her defiance remained. “Yes, she found me in the car,” she admitted, her hands trembling. “But I couldn’t even start it! I didn’t know how!”
Her voice cracked as she tried to steady herself. “She pulled me out before I could do anything.”
Abhir’s eyes darkened as he reached into his bag, pulling out a stack of papers. "If you still don’t believe me..." His voice was cold, steady. He extended the papers toward her. "This is a copy of the police report."
Ruhi hesitated, her fingers trembling as she took the documents from him.
"Go ahead," Abhir urged, his gaze never leaving hers. "Read it."
The room felt like it was closing in as Ruhi scanned the pages, her mind racing.
"Madhav Uncle is a police officer, right?" Abhir pressed, crossing his arms. "And Rohit—your husband—is a lawyer. Ask them if these are real police records or not."
He leaned closer, his voice growing sharper. "In fact, why ask only Rohit? Your entire in-laws’ family are lawyers. Ask any one of them—or all of them—if this report is fake or real."
Ruhi swallowed hard, her eyes darting between the papers and Abhir’s unforgiving stare.
Abhir continued, his voice slow but carrying an undeniable weight. “Do you know what’s written in the police report?” he asked, his tone edged with disbelief. “It says my mother didn’t even sit in the car while it was going down the slope. She got in later—when she was trying to save Massi.” His eyes bore into her, as if daring her to deny the truth in front of them.
“The report you’re reading, Ruhi,” Abhir said, his voice tight, “is based on CCTV footage. It clearly states that the car was parked properly when you, Ruhi Birla, sat in the driver’s seat. Later, my mother forced you out of the seat. After that, the car started rolling down the slope on its own.”
His words hung in the air, filled with accusation, as he waited for Ruhi’s response.
Abhir’s voice grew colder as he continued, “The report further states that my mother was trying to stop the car, but it couldn’t be stopped. That’s why it hit Aroohi Birla, who ended up in the hospital.”
His eyes darkened, the weight of the incident pressing on every word. “You see, Ruhi,” he said slowly, “this wasn’t just an accident.”
Abhir’s voice trembled with emotion. “It was your stubbornness that took away the life of your mother. But you have no idea what it took away from me. My mom wanted to save you—from the guilt of killing your own parent. She knew what it meant to live with that burden, even if it was an accident.”
His expression hardened as he struggled to contain his pain. “You’ll never understand what she sacrificed for you.”
Abhir’s words hung heavy in the air, the weight of unspoken emotions crackling between them. Ruhi glanced at Rohit for support, her hand trembling as she tried to process the accusation. The report slipped from her grasp, echoing the tension that filled the room.
“Abhir, I—” she started, but the pain in his eyes silenced her.
Ruhi's breath caught in her throat as Abhir's words struck her like a physical blow. "What are you saying?" she whispered, disbelief etched on her face.
Abhir's expression was a mix of anguish and anger. "You think you can walk away from this? My parents sacrificed everything to protect you, to shield you from the truth. And now, it’s all unraveling."
Rohit looked between them, the tension palpable. "Abhir, this isn’t the way to handle this. We can find a solution—"
But Abhir cut him off, his voice rising. "A solution? You think it’s that simple? My family is shattered, and it all ties back to her. Ruhi, you can’t just ignore the impact of your actions."
Ruhi felt the weight of his accusation crushing her. "I never wanted any of this. I loved your family."
"Love isn’t enough!" Abhir shouted, the pain in his voice undeniable. "This is just the beginning of the end for all of us."
As silence fell, the reality of their situation loomed large, casting a shadow over everything they had known.
Abhir's expression softened momentarily as he took in Ruhi's tears. "You really don’t understand, do you?" he said, his voice now tinged with a mix of frustration and sorrow. "The truth about your past—about your connection to my family—it's not just going to hurt you. It's tearing us all apart."
Ruhi's heart raced. "Please, Abhir. Just tell me what happened. I need to know."
He looked away, as if the weight of the revelation was too much to bear. "Your massi... she made choices that changed everything for us."
Ruhi’s voice trembled. "I just want to apologize. I need to make things right. I can't stand the thought of causing pain."
Abhir’s eyes locked onto hers, filled with a mix of anger and desperation. "But can you truly fix this? What if it only makes it worse?"
Ruhi wiped her tears, determination rising within her. "I have to try. For your family, for mine. Please, let me talk to her."
Ruhi felt her heart race as Abhir's words sank in. The pain in his voice was palpable, and she struggled to process the weight of his story.
"Abhir, I can't even imagine what you've been through," she said softly. "I just want to make things right. I miss her too, but I can’t change the past. Please, help me find her."
Abhir’s expression hardened. "You think this is easy for me? You have no idea what it’s like to lose everything. My family is shattered because of your choices."
Tears welled in Ruhi's eyes. "I know I can’t undo what happened, but I need to see her. I need to apologize for everything."
Abhir turned away, anger and sorrow wrestling within him. "It’s not just about you, Ruhi. I had to learn to live without them. You have to face the consequences of your actions too”
Both the updates were wonderful.
Loved both the parts. Glad Abhir showed the truth to Ruhi
Waiting for the next part
