Whenever Karthik loves someone it is to such an extreme that he totally loses the sense of right or wrong. I would fear falling in love or being around a person like this. While life could be extremely beautiful when things are going well, it could be fatal for everyone around when things are not going well. For that matter even his hate is extreme.

He hated his Mom and Dad-that was extreme!

He loved Naira- that was extreme!

He hated her after his brothers death- that was extreme!

He again married her and loved her again to an extreme!

Now he hates her again and loves his son to another extreme!

He is like a spoilt brat- when he wants something or doesn't want something its always extreme. He really needs to see a counsellor and not a lawyer ! How can a person like this survive for example in a corporate world ? No wonder he never goes to office. Truly an extreme obsessive personality.

Ofcourse Naira has her flaws too- the biggest being non communication when essential and not knowing to keep your mouth shut when not essential!

I hope they realize that Karthik and Naira are not soulmate type material. One of the biggest qualities of true soulmates is their ability to communicate and give space to each other no matter what the circumstances. I hope the unmarried folks watching the show realize that just going gaga over each other and doing karvachautha dont make you soul mates or even ideal partners! It needs a different level of maturity that both these characters seriously lack!

It is interesting how the fictional characters have such distinct personality traits and identifiable psychological/personality issues. Most of us agree on the shortcomings of the leads. While Kartik displays possessive, obsessive and angry temperament; Naira fails to communicate and runs away from conflicts.

Precisely. I am a fairly recent viewer or YRKKH and started watching after seeing the spinoff yeh rishtey hain pyaar ke, which I follow religiously and enjoy. I have watched some of the major episodes throughout the Kaira journey and there are definitely so many misunderstandings and trust issues that persist despite reconciliation. I honestly do feel that Kairtik and Naira never learn from their mistakes and keep making them over and over again with Naira always hiding things or running away and Kartik with his major trust issues and extreme obsessive behavior.

It's been 136 episodes and the couple in the spinoff show perfectly embodies the soulmate definition that you've given and are everything that Kaira are not (even if you consider pre-marriage Kaira). Having said that, not every couple has to have the soulmate connection. Kaira are a couple in love with their own shortcomings and conflicts, but that is how it is in reality so maybe that is what the makers are trying to depict. I don't know whether Kaira have ever been actually called soulmates on the show or by the makers but they definitely are not because I can see the stark contrast betwen Kaira and Mishbir.

I apologize if I have offended anyone, but I am so surprised to see that the couple in this show is the complete antithesis of the couple in its spinoff. That definitely means that the CVs and makers are knowingly butchering the leads' characters in this show despite having the potential to do complete justice to their characters, as they have been with the spinoff.

I know it's not possible as YRKKH is 5 years in the future but Kartik and Naira should really have a chat with Mishti and her boyfriend to learn about what trust, understanding, and true companionship is. I am mentioning the important dialogue said by the male lead in YRHPK that really applies to Kaira's situation as Haalat or circumstances cannot be blamed for Kaira's situation, as they continue to do so.It's only Kaira themselves. "Rishta bahar se nahi sirf andhar se tootha hai aur agar do log saath rehena chatey tho puri duniya unhe alag nahi karsakthi. Par agar wohi do log saath nahi rehena chahey tho koi kitni bhi koshish karle, wo saath nahi rehthe. The makers have honestly set the bar too high for the spinoff creating such a strong and just ML and FL, who despite having their own flaws, always end up doing the right thing. However after seeing how the makers are butchering Kaira, fans like myself can't help but keep dreading that the CVs can and will butcher the leads of the spinoff with each track. I hate being pessimistic, but seeing what the makers have been capable of doing with Kaira, I guess anything is possible on ITV.

I disagree...not because they are ideal or perfect couple...but because ideal or perfect couple are not the only one's being called soulmates....a couple with imperfections can also be called soulmates...soulmate is someone who will love you for who you are...will love your real self...who shares a deeper connection with you...who is your comfort and peace...by these attributes Kartik and Naira are soulmates...their journey from day 1 till now suggests they are soulmates...they shared friendship, love-hatred, love, immense love, pain...they shared a common pain...pain of losing their mother and their daughter the first born...they both hated their one parent...they both lived away from their families...they both are still rebels...despite of being outspoken, real, preachy, caring and most of all rebellious there is something that distinguishes them...its their priorities in life...he is someone who made her his priority over anything...she was, is and has always been his universe but he never overlooked his responsibilities...he is someone who knows how to handle responsibilities...be it responsibility towards his family or towards his mentally unstable mother who lost her son...she is someone who also loves him unconditionally but she can see beyond him...sometimes fails to perform her responsibilities...the way he does...she is someone who handle herself in his absence but he can't handle himself in her absence...they both showed their disappointment and resentment in each other...they are a perfect amalgamation of imperfections....but there are certain things that could be avoided in any case...him questioning her character...him letting Vedika observe fast for him but expecting Naira to fast for him...her keeping Kairav away from him for 5 years...they communicate not to listen other's turmoils and pain...but to express their own selves, their pain...that's where they falter....the confrontations they had from past month were needed...but it didn't help them understand each other's pain...that's why he think the question can be forgotten and forgiven and she thinks she was right in keeping Kairav away for protecting him...their core essence...is still retained...even after all their flaws...she pulls him like a magnet...they even now share...love-hate bond...but whatever they share with each other...they can't share even 1% of it with anyone else...

You cannot be soulmates if you have trust issues and running away from your problems. For me, Naitik and Akshara were great example of soulmates.

I completely get what you are saying, but what I think is that not every couple in the world that is in love has to be soulmates. We cannot coin that term for every couple that is madly in love with each other even if they complete one another. In my opinion, Vishambhar and Rajshri Maheshwari as well as Akshara and Naitik, and now Abir and Mishti from the spinoff are soulmates. The interesting thing is that the makers have drawn comparisons between these three relationships , but have never done so with Kaira.

The very definition of soulmate comes with understanding, trust, mutual respect, and no ego. Of course, misunderstandings and fights are inevitable, but it's all about learning from mistakes and never leaving each other's side no matter what. Kartik may love Naira to an extreme extent, may find comfort and solace in her, and may even love her with her imperfections but he still has not reached the zenith of trust and understanding and neither has she. I won't even comment about the ego aspect because it is pretty self-explanatory where both of them stand in that respect. However, that is completely fine because that is what Kaira's journey is all about, how two imperfect people fall in love and deal with the many internal and external problems that arise within their marriage and particularly within their extended family.

My only issue is that the two of them never learn from their mistakes. What is happening right now is because of the CVs choosing to butcher their characters. Despite all his flaws and trust issues, the one thing that the Kartik from earlier would have never done is question Naira's character.

The thing about being in this world amd relationships are that you forget and forgive. If we look around us ...even our parents..watch closely you will see any couple who are close to you they fight they cry they forgive they forget. This soulmates having no ego....is not true. Because when you love someone you do not forget you are human...you will have emotions they include having egos, anger , love , pain , jealousy , care these all things make up a perfect couple. And in my eyes there is no such thing as perfect couple. Everyone has flaws...everyone is egoistic in some way or the other...and everyone has different way of loving. They also have differentt thoughts.

Being flawed and still sticking together is what makes up a soul mate connection. About making mistakes...that is kind of what i most like about kaira.... because in real life who doesnt make mistake ? And who doesnt misunderstand ? Who doesnt shout or who doesnt take out the anger ? If personally we see then there are many now married couples who would have atleast on some point fight , accusations because of third person...but that doesn't mean that we run away or say they are not soulmates.

Being a soulmate to someone comes with a full package with as humans we should know to grow with. I also understand where you are coming from and its totally okay to have different thoughts.

That question was lead because of concequences of family. Manish and kdadi were the once who filled kartiks ears....( which happens in real life too ) and thus kartik did it. And for serious.... he said to.mihir he knew nothing happened...anyways...that is a whole lot different things to talk about.

And not every couple is just like akshara or natik...or vishambhar and rajshri...they had their problems and differences... kaira has their own.

if you haven’t watched karthik and nairas journey of the last 3 years...10 years plus in their time,..you can never really understand this couple. This couple have faced almost everything a couple could ...love, courtship, marriage, infertility, family issues, separation. Divorce, life threatening illnesses, remarriage, high risk pregnancy, death of their first child ( daughter), baby swopping, trust issues regarding fidelity and death of a spouse (fake) and grieving for the death of that spouse, ...second child serious illness, near death of second child, entry of another woman into their relationship...So this couple have been through it all. Mishty and Abeer who are still courting ....are nowhere even close to this couple ..lol.but knowing these itv shows ..they’ll probably make them go through the same sort of issues as daily drama is needed. so really there’s no comparison between the couples at the moment. Maybe after 10 years of being together ..then mishty and abeer can be compared to kaira and see who’s done a better job with their marriage ..

U r right! I wnder everytime how these two shows r from same PH?!

It is producer who said kaira r soulmates! I disagree with him. It is obvious they r lovebirds but not soulmates.
