So basically one person starts off a story - they are the creator and are responsible for updating summaries/ ckt sketches etc and seeing that the story is maintaining continuity, flow & logic. Bee started this one but she isn't around so I'm doing it for her.Originally posted by: minakrish

Then other writers add segments from 500-1000 words. The word limit is just a guide, it's not an absolute requirement. It can be longer, we don't check. Just that it cannot be overlong in the sense that one person dictates the entire story. It needs to be a collaborative effort. A writer cannot do 2 consecutive segments. And once you've committed to writing one, you have to post it within 48 hours otherwise your slot opens up for the next writer. The main characters need to be in every segment - either present or mentioned in some way. We don't want the story to become all about the side characters.
This thread explains the whole thing:
Once you've read this, hit me up if you have any more questions. Hoping to see you as part of our many Fichains! You can even start one if you wish to!
PS: The first page in this thread has the links to all the segments in this Fichain with the summaries and ckt sketches added.
Segment # 12
"So how did you get your dad to agree?" Suyash buckled his seatbelt as the captain made the announcement for take-off.
"Just told him I'd like to get to know my future husband and what better way to do that than to spend some alone time in a faraway location!"
Amyra rolled her eyes and searched Suyash's face for any signs of emotion, but he remained impassive. Hmpf! So much for making him jealous! She fought an urge to toss away those nerdy yet sexy, steel-framed glasses he wore before grabbing his thick, dark hair and kissing the heck out of him. That would shake him up. She giggled at the thought.
"What's so funny?"
"I told Baba I would get Zaid Siddiqui to sign with us. That was the clincher."
"Zaid Siddiqui? That Bollywood actor whose debut movie is a mega hit?"
"Yep, the non-nepo-breakout star. Baba thinks he will be big for Amicomm, he doesn't have anyone repping him yet and he's shooting in Paris for his next movie."
"But we're going to London."
Amyra smothered a grin, her eyes glinting with mischief.
"Caught on to that finally, did you?"
Suyash's jaw dropped.
"Amyra Roy, you little minx! That's why you booked us on this Paris-bound flight! Your dad has no idea you're taking the train to London with me, does he? Damn, you are devious! Remind me never to play Bluff with you!"
He sank back against his head-rest, his chest heaving with quiet laughter as Amyra smiled widely.
"And Vikram is going to Paris, I suppose?"
"I'll let him know I had to be in London for business. Eventually. Until then he can enjoy the Champs-Elysees by himself."
He let out a snort as she smacked him on his chest with the back of her hand.
"Oh, don't be such a killjoy!"
"Ams,” he said earnestly. “I’m going to be in London because the office there needs me. So is Tutu. What are you going to do there?”
The plane began taxiing.
"I’m staying with Lisa. We'll enjoy some anime time. You can come too if you like."
Suyash rolled his eyes, then shook his head, giving up.
They stayed silent for a while until the plane took off and the first meal was served.
"Hey," Amyra said, hesitantly. "I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For my crazy ass behaviour at that party and...and for obsessively sniffing your shirts. I just have a weird fetish for scents."
There was a small pause.
"Is that why you hoard all those perfumes?"
Amyra attacked her fruit salad with renewed gusto, her face going red with shame and embarrassment.
"Hey." Suyash put his fork down and looked at her. She still couldn't meet his eyes. "It's okay. It only means you like the way I smell and that's a good thing, right? Nothing weird about that. And even if there was, I like you just the way you are. I like my My wild and feral."
Her eyes shot up to his face. He was wearing that familiar, gentle smile that broke out the dimples on his face and her stomach swooped. She was tingling all over. She couldn't look away.
I like my My wild and feral. He had no idea what he had just said. For the first time in 25 years of her life, she felt understood and accepted for who she was. She had been starved for it. She didn't even hate being called My anymore. Why had she even fussed about that? God, how was she supposed to marry another man when he said things like this?
She quickly changed the topic before she did something foolish like sob loudly or blurt out her messy feelings.
"I want to sign on C-Cube & he's in London for an international youth conference. So I guess that’s what I’ll be doing there. The Indie Rapper?" she explained in response to his querying look.
"God, Suyash you should listen to him! I've never been a rap fan but this guy-- his lyrics are so hard-hitting. So raw. And this is my dream. I've always wanted to use my PR skills to help impoverished artists. C-Cube is from the Mulund slums. But Baba thinks his image goes against everything Amicomm stands for. He does not approve."
"And you?"
"I think he's brilliant. Sure, he uses some expletives but that only makes his songs more impactful. He started on YouTube and went viral."
She felt rather than saw Suyash go still beside her.
"This C-Cube, what's his real name?"
Her reply was what made him completely freeze.
"Chandrakant Chavan."

Arvind Roy was startled when Gautam Sehgal suddenly burst into his office and slammed the door shut.
"Are you mad? I go away to Colombo for a week on a business deal and this is what I come back to? You sent Vikram and Amyra to Europe? With the Kamat boy?”
"Relax. They’ll be in Paris and he’ll be in London."
Gautam slammed his palms against the hard desk.
"I hope you know what you're doing. Because that Chavan kid is in London. If they should meet...."
"For God's sake, how would they? They have no connection after all these years. Plus, I have someone keeping an eye on both Amyra & the Kamat boy. You worry needlessly."
"God, I hope you're right, Arvind. I damn well hope you're right or we're in deep shit."

Suyash couldn't sleep. His head was swirling with that name and flashes of his past swam before his eyes with startling clarity. The dirty chawl boys playing gully cricket. Rough, fierce and uncouth. He had been one of them. And 'Chintu' Chavan, the scrawny, younger boy next door had idolized him. Followed him around adoringly calling him dada. Copied everything he did. Until his 13th birthday 15 years ago when his father had become responsible for Chintu losing his entire family.
----------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to introduce the possible 'murder' victim/s here that Suyash's father was accused for. And also give Amyra and Suyash a solid motive for being in Europe. In case it isn't clear, Chandrakant 'Chintu' Chavan is C-Cube, Suyash's former neighbour and now and upcoming Rap artist. It's clear Gautam fears that Chintu and Suyash together will figure out what happened all those years ago. What exactly happened is for the writers ahead to thresh out. With Amyra and Suyash going to London, and Amyra wanting to sign him on for Amicomm, it's a very real possibility that they will meet.
Oh, & also in case it isn't clear.. the Kamat boy is Suyash. His real name is Suyash Kamat. He's 28 years old and Amyra is 25. Sorry, I just wanted to get those details cleared up.
Lisa stays in London. She's an Anime fan too and they all met at the comic-con. And maybe she can be Amyra's confidante as she navigates her feelings for Suyash, since she has seen Amyra sniff him obsessively. It's up to the writers.. just a suggestion.
Bluff is a card game of strategy where players have to lie about what cards they hold in order to get rid of them. Also called Bullshit or Cheat or I Doubt it.
Oh, one more thing: Amyra's dad is Bengali (Roy, duh) so I figured she would call him Baba. I'm assuming her mom is Marathi (since her Grandpa's surname is Dikshit).
Shiri, tum toh ye fic revive karke gaayab hee ho gayi. Wanna do the next one?
