For the answer...

Since it was an easy question, hence as expected everyone got it correct

Yes Hindi evolved from through Shauraseni Prakrit and Śauraseni Apabhraṃśa. The language majorly developed around the areas of present day western UP and Delhi. The language also owes a lot to a mixed dialect of Persian and Indic languages Hindavi. It contains a lot of Persian words grammatically clubbed under the Videshaj shabd..

An interesting trivia is that many of the local dialects(actually languages who are yet to be granted an official status) like Bhojpuri, Chattisgarhi, Garhwali and Magahi which are currently considered as a subset of Hindi have completely different origins. Bhojpuri and Magahi evolved from Magadhi Prakrit, Chattisgarhi from Kosali and Garhwali from Khasa Prakrit. Why they are still clubbed under the umbrella of Hindi is really a point to ponder
