I would love to see one! We are living in a politically sensitive India. Religious opinions are more polarised than ever. But that doesn’t change the fact that interfaith marriages still happen. If today a romantic or romcom movie is made on a Hindu-Muslim love story where either both are indians or one indian and one non-indian, what kind of reaction this film will get?

I think on the ground level things are not as polarized as the politicians and media, especially a bunch of useless YouTubers, are trying to make it look like. My cousin recently married a Muslim girl hailing from Lucknow. The wedding and the entirety went off pretty smoothly with both the families participating actively.

As for the movies , I only need the love story to be compelling and don’t really care about the background and backstory of the individuals.

There are plenty interfaith tv shows that worked if I am not wrong...like that Jennifer winget one,and I think zee also had few shows and the reception was fine...

And there are interfaith romances in movies,it's just that they are trying to normalise it to the extent that you don't care if one character is a muslim or a hindu...

Made in heaven is a good example,no one cares that the two main characters have 'muslim background ,movies like gehraiyaan where sidhant had a Muslim name (we don't know whether he was a muslim or not),Akshay -Kiara movie (forgot name)...

And that is actual representation..trust me in most interfaith marriages ,both parties are of supposed faith only in name..I am yet to see atleast in my community a religious muslim who will even consider someone of another faith let alone marry....
