To get the whole context pls read the developments leading to this.

These aren't govt mouthpieces so hope people find them trustworthy. She has landed herself in this mess. When authorities tried to follow due process they and obviously ‘the fascist’ by default, were accused of being biased. Tab bhi bahot gaali padi thi unko and eventually she was allowed to compete.

The government had to come out and say that they provided all support and money n resources coz her supporters said she made it there inspite of everything. Wahan bhi logo ko problem hai.

Wish people had let her fight her own battles and bouts instead of involving her in politics. Ek promising sportswoman ki career barbaad ho gayi in sab me.

U have legit concerns..pls protest..pls complain. But dont let ur concern be overshadowed by people with vested interests. Pehle bhi hote the protest. But that was to make the public n authorities aware..it didnt go on for months. Let law take its course else people will take sides.
Even if US,UK,Canada deal with protesters way worse than this they r still saviours of democracy..but here we have a fascist regime who allows all this drama to go on and even bends in to them. Honestly..government ka kya gaya? Finally who had to bear the consequences for their actions?

^^ there is no point.
Some posters just want to spread hate and negativity. So they keep posting those baseless and agenda driven tweets.

From what I have read, earlier the diff weight category events used to happen on different days allowing the same wrestler to compete in different categories and improve their chance of qualification

So that was the main issue of contention - where Vinesh wanted to contest in both categories. Nothing really too crazy going on in the above articles as you are making them out to be

Govt ko gaali kyu pad rahi hai, you ask

When she was in with a chance to win a medal, immediately IT cell kicked in and started throwing around info about how the govt supported her so much and spent so much money on her training. Just what a celebrated sportsperson wants to hear

And once they got disqualified, suddenly they did a u turn and started the machinery to pin all the blame on her. You have BJP ministers and mouthpieces like Hema Malini, Saina Nehwal going on and rubbing salt into her wounds instead of showing empathy. Gaali toh padegi na phir?

I agree that the govt or the board cannot do much here, whether it is on the Olympics side or in controlling their mouthpieces. They gave them the liberty to spit venom and vitriol to defend the Govt at all costs, and now they have created a monster which is out of their control. Kya kar sakte hain bechare

Correction: When she held a chance to win the medal, the usual crazy crowd went around mocking the PM asking whether he would call Vinesh. Kis muh se call karega etc. I didn’t want to post those disgusting comments here but will do so. In response people said that the same govt had spent for her olympic training and sent her to represent India. As for making a U-turn n putting the blame on her..who else is responsible for her weight? Her support staff was on her own demand. And still if people feel this is a conspiracy..so be it. I wish govt had so much reach to manipulate olympics.
kuch logo ki maansikta aisi hai ki Vinesh khud aakar bhi kuch alag bolegi to ye log kahenge” nahi behen..tujhe nahi pata tere saath conspiracy hui hai”.

And ya it is completely legal to compete in different categories to secure a quota. So it was allowed. But this brought the weight issues with it so it isn’t something out of the blue. She lost time during the protests during which someone else qualified for 53 kg weight category. So this was her only option. Thats y I keep on saying..focus on ur work and not politics unless thats ur day job

Yeah those tweets were below the belt by few folks, but considering the hell this government put the wrestlers through, were you really surprised?

And this "x number of amount" spent thing has been going on since the wrestlers protest. Its nothing new. Godi media and IT cell were literally throwing it in their faces when they wanted to return their medals in protest. While the govt was playing deaf and dumb. This logic just got refurbished once it looked like Vinesh was going to win a medal - both as a defensive tactic (to defend against the tweets you mentioned) and an offensive one (for sheer credit sharing and glory hogging)

Thats y I keep on saying..focus on ur work and not politics unless thats ur day job

This is such a simplistic take. Protesting against the system which is shielding a sexual predator is not being political. Its called standing for your rights. How can one focus on their work in such a toxic work environment?
