ADHM is a film with so much promise but ultimately so vapid at the end. Even KJo admitted that he did not feel fulfilled with the work he gave Aishwarya in this and felt he needed to give her a full-fledged film, because she's wasted. SRK cameo was the only exciting part, to see him and Aish reunited onscreen together but that beast Ranbir keeps hogging the screen with his ugly, nonphotogenic face so even this cameo is wasted.

Anushka was the only good lead but her character is horribly written considering she's destined to be punished for her crime of not loving KJo's audience surrogate, Ranbir, so she's killed off with a deathly cancer. So disgusting. With a better film and script, Anushka probably could have won the Filmfare that year.

The Pakistani cameo actors like Fawad Khan and Imran Abbas were also wasted. The fact that the two Pakistani characters are both cheaters doesn't exactly help perceptions. I'm surprised KJo didn't give Fawad the lead role, considering his major crush on him, but then again if Fawad is KJo's the object of desire, he can't play KJo's role.

Script should have cut out Ranbir, playing the umpteenth variation of himself onscreen, and just focused on SRK, Aish, and Fawad in a love triangle. Portray the aftermath of the divorce and Fawad plays the lead role, instead of Ranbir playing KJo, as Aish's new hookup. SRK would still have a major role as a lead, since KJo's films without SRK are all worthy of being called garbage, but also take on a more mature role worthy of his talent and a progression of his more classical romantic hero roles from KKHH, K3G, and KHNH.

Frankly, a KJo directed film with SRK and Aishwarya as leads is sorely missing since KJo covered SRK with his other great actresses already (Kajol, Rani, Preity).

Why single out SRK fans with "constantly try to prop up their favourite"???

And what makes you think that the ID with three actresses' names also means that this member is a fan of all three??? Did you read RPA's posts about Rani?

What is with this superiority complex that most SRK fans have? Constantly try to prop up their favorite by saying dumb stuff, mocking, accusing, manipulating the facts from the past against their contemporaries or any other rising stars.

A SRK fan pretending to be Rani,Preity, Aish fan? I have seen such mask tear off after Animal's success. Many fake Ranbir fans urf SRK fans couldn't keep up with their pretence.

Rising star lol. So Ranbir, who's been in this industry for 17 years now is still a newbie and should be coddled like a baby? So glad Kangana called out the media for coddling this man-child and treating him like he's a newcomer who's just had his debut. He's 41 years old, looks at least a decade older, and needs to start acting like the grown father he is.

This isn't the first time someone on IF has gotten confused about my identity as a SRK fan. Apparently because I don't keep his name or image in my profile, it's a shock to some that he is my fav actor. I will repeat to you what I told the other user who was equally as blindsided, that if you look at my three fav actresses (Rani, Preity, Aish), the actor most commonly associated with them would be SRK. So it should not come across as a surprise at all.

You make it sound like I was a big Ranbir fan who only took offense at his "success" with Animal. I have never liked Ranbir and am glad that with Animal, people have realized he's only capable of playing himself. The same performance of a man-child with daddy issues and rampant misogyny he trots out for his every film.

Also frankly I don't believe any true SRK fans are Ranbir fans. The so-called SRK fans who gush over Ranbir expose their true colors when they celebrate Animal, its message, and claim Ranbir's performance there was the greatest. SRK, whose movies always give equal scope to his heroines, who gives them top billing, who has no dirty personal life of being a womanizer vs Ranbir, who has never been with a woman he hasn't cheated on with countless others. Whose own father boasted about how many girlfriends he had. Who had to be tricked into marriage when he knocked someone up and still couldn't keep it in his pants with his every co-star since. You cannot be a SRK fan and admire his treatment of women, both on and offscreen, while admiring Ranbir for his antics on and offscreen. Animal is the antithesis of every SRK role.

If any actor deserves to be compared to SRK, it's Ranveer. Both are non-nepos and self-made. Both have strong connections to Deepika as her two favorite leading men. Ranveer has a stronger resemblance to SRK than Ranbir. Ranveer is more popular internationally and his films always do well there (Padmaavat beating Sanju overseas and 83 being the highest grossing film of the year overseas) just like SRK is the face of India overseas. Ranveer's Dharma film, Rocky aur Rani, was a bigger hit than Ranbir's ADHM. Ranveer is SRK's successor as Don just as SRK was Amitabh's successor. Ranveer has no dirty history of misogyny or mistreatment of women. Even his negative roles like in Padmaavat were originally intended for SRK.

I don't know many people who keep people's names or pics in their profile unless they like them. Except for that one user who hates Abhishek but keeps an ugly pic of him as their profile so they're reminded why they hate him lol.

I admire Rani as an actress and as a childhood favorite. She is an Aries like me. What I do not like is her personal life because I think she's proven to be a very immoral person and she has very tone-deaf, patriarchal views on women that haven't aged well. I don't think there's anything wrong with calling someone out for problematic behavior when they deserve to be criticized.

And I'll be honest that reading more about Rani on IF has reduced my opinion of her as a person even more, alongside all her public appearances whenever she opens her mouth. I've also learned from IF now that she had an affair with Aamir during his first marriage, around the time of Ghulam. That this helped break his marriage and it was heavily reported in the tabloids. Which explains why he feels comfortable working with her and why she doesn't mind taking his rather limited roles for actresses in his movies. I see Rani now as someone who was willing to do anything (or anyone) to climb up the ladder, whether Aamir, Govinda, Abhishek, Aditya Chopra, etc.

She dropped Govinda when his films started flopping. Would pally up to the Bachchans but her affairs caught up with her and made her unsuitable as a prospective daughter-in-law (something Jaya loved to remind her of). She ruthlessly tried to milk the image that she and Abhishek were the next Amitabh/Jaya (the height difference, Jaya and Rani both being Bengali). But when Amitabh didn't want to do a kissing scene with her in Black, she had the audacity to tell him to leave the film, she won't leave. Befriend Payal to steal her husband and childhood sweetheart. Never realized until reading on IF that Aditya only married her after his father died. Both his parents liked Payal and were against Aditya divorcing her for Rani. Only when Yash Chopra passed away was Pamela unable to stop her son from doing so, which also makes Rani's remarks about how close she was to Yash Chopra suddenly seem very fake and scripted.

Didn't know until recently that she also had a thing with Vivek but dropped him the second he had his feud with Salman so she could stay ingratiated with the Khans and Bachchans. I find it karmic justice that the Bachchans dropped her and didn't invite her to their wedding, which she was clearly upset by since she spent so many years sucking up to them. Rumors of a link-up with Salman during Chori Chori Chupke Chupke show that even her friendship with Aishwarya was deeply one-sided and why she stole Aish's films because she knew all the men she had favored preferred Aish (Salman, Vivek, Abhishek).

Learning her brother has a case against him for molesting a girl and Rani then hired him at YRF to clean up his image only convinces me more that she is not a good person. All people are disposable to her. I used to prefer Rani over Kajol but now I'm leaning towards Kajol because Kajol has never had a messy personal life. Never caused great pain to other people or broken lives. I used to think Kajol was arrogant for looking down on Rani but now I see that Kajol recognized Rani for what she was.

This thread is very revealing and explained a great deal about Rani's salacious decisions. Interestingly enough, there is a user in the last few pages also called out for hating Rani. This user explained they love Rani as an actress but have the right to call her out on her personal life, just as they adore Kangana as an actress but don't approve of what she does off the screen.

I've always seen a lot more overlap between Ranveer and SRK's fandoms than Ranbir and SRK's in real life. It shocked me coming to IF that people actually think Ranbir and SRK's fandoms are united. I feel like this is a smear campaign against SRK lol.

Going back to actresses I like, I admire Kajol, Preity, Aishwarya, Juhi, and Urmila as human beings. That's not to say they don't have flaws (Kajol being loud and aggressive) or messy love lives (Preity's molestation case, Aishwarya's abuse) but these women never seemed to hurt other people. They give out good energy and receive it the same way.

I love Sridevi and Rekha as actresses but these women have very sordid personal lives. Unlike Rani, I'm slightly more forgiving towards them because of their unique childhoods (or lack of it) and history of being taken advantage of by men. But there's a line where you cross from victim to predator yourself so while I praise these two women as talents, I've made many critical posts about the pain they've inflicted on others many times. Strangely, no one calls me out to claim I'm not a Sridevi or Rekha fan the way they do with Rani.

Priyanka used to be my #2 fav actress after Rani. I stopped liking her because of how fake she is as a person, something most people seemed to see right away but I didn't see it until she came here to the west. I see very little integrity in her now and I can't call her a favorite anymore. I even used to like Kareena a lot growing up but my opinion on her as a person also soured once I started seeing her arrogant interviews and the way she's so dismissive and cruel towards others. Lost all respect for her.

Madhuri is more before my time but I know many people say she has a very sordid history between sleeping with Subhash Ghai to get roles, her affair with Sanjay Dutt, etc. I like her but trust her less. There are lots of rumors about Karishma and how the reason her wedding to Abhishek got called off is because the Bachchans found out that Babita would use her as a high-level escort and sell her to men for nights to earn extra money. I don't know how true any of this is, especially when linked to Karishma's allegations against her ex-husband where she was similarly prostituted, but I know all of this can't be held against her. She was a child forced to listen to her mother to become the family's breadwinner and sell herself. She's the victim here and life has been unfair to her. I've never held that against her and am still a big fan of hers. I would class her with the other actresses I listed above (Kajol, Preity, Aishwarya, Juhi, and Urmila) as a good person.

Kuttar anti Srk peeps in their picchla "janam" coming in new "avatar" as some Srk supporters to keep fooling the real Srk fans.....how funny , and sad, it is at the same time.

Such people were neither Srk haters in their last births nor admirers in this new janam.. They are just some disturbed souls with lots of time in hand to write lame essays with half baked information, trolling people with it and playing mind games with unaware members to satisfy their "appetite"...

"Atom"ic bomb may not generate that much distractionns which a malicious heart and soul can..

As I'm far less interested in the off-screen life of most actors/ actresses than in their work-life, I find your reasoning interesting.

I know from other filmindustries that through working together, leading couples tend to become short-time or long-time off-screen couples (mostly because of sexual tension, I believe) and also the casting couch is a 'furniture' often used...so, the Hindi filmindustry isn't an exception to that. However, honestly, it's not as important to me as the really dirty (and also destroying) things that (can) happen in filmindustries.
