How are you finding it so far? I hear the cast is all British? Or is the setting in UK?Originally posted by: foreverlazy

I'm liking it so far! Other Emma Myers who plays Pip, I think the entire cast is British. I'm actually really glad it's set in the UK like the book originally was!
Oh I thought the book was set in the US- Fairview, CT if I remember right. 🤔Originally posted by: foreverlazy

In the US edition yes - I'm not sure why but they changed certain things about the book to make it more "relatable" to American audiences, which is just so silly because there's still some UK slang in there and major plot points like the capstone project that (to my knowledge) don't exist in the US.
I like Book 2 a lot and I'm really glad I read the prequel before this so now I know who Jaime is. This is definitely a spoiler, but I wish they'd used the content from the prequel in the show instead of how they actually decided to introduce Pip deciding to solve the case.
I see. I had no idea there was a US version and UK version of the book.Originally posted by: foreverlazy

I liked Book 2 fine and I didn’t find a gap from not having read the prequel… I mean I got that Connor was Pip’s friend and Jaime was his brother and that connection was enough for me. It didn’t feel weird or out of the blue to me. Does the prequel talk more about their relationship?

The prequel is really interesting because I didn't realize until starting Book 2 that they were probably using the prequel to establish the Reynolds family - Jaime as a character and his relationship with his family. He basically organizes this whole murder mystery party for Connor's birthday and the events of that plus the end of the prequel show you the exact moment Pip decides to solve the case for her capstone project.
Oh my! Now I'm stoked for this movie. Loved Emily in Lady Jane and Tom was soooo good in the latest Hunger Games movie! I'm very hopeful they can bring the chemistry between Alex and Poppy!

Finished the Good Girl's Guide To Murder tv series... don't bother with it, they lost me halfway through episode 3.
Oh I finished it. I fell asleep in Episode 2 but since I started i wanted to see it through. It was bad. A snooze fest. I could not warm up to any of the characters or actors. And the one angle I wouldn’t have minded if they’d done away with (Barney) they kept it in! Sucky adaptation.
