Wishful thinking

Am not a writer, hence putting a wishful plotpoint.

Not sure what season it is in Anupamaverse. We have recently witnessed extreme heat leading to the mercury pas 50 degrees leading to A/C blasts, fire etc. in some parts of Northern India. Since Amdavad too, usually, has higher temperature, assuming the same situation.

Shruti and Adhya are left at the hotel to fend for themselves while Anuj as usual is with Anupama in Shah House kitchen discussing sweet nothings since Early Morning.

Around noon, a fire breaks out in the hotel leading to commotion. Shruti who is just recuperating, starts choking/weak on the smoke while Adhya helps her through the walkway to a relatively safer spot. She calls Anuj who as usual ignores her calls and eventually receives the call only to reprimand and cut the call without. This ignorance shocks Adhya making her numb while the fire starts to spread and Shruti, despite her weak state pulls her to safety.

This makes both realise what they mean to Anuj.

On the other hand, Vanraj and Shahs catch the news on Television, rushing them to the hotel to notice a struggling Shruti and a numbed, shocked Adhya. When Anuj approaches, received with a cold demeanour of Shruti who gives him an earful and more about the disgusting person he turned after meeting the woman who abandoned him. She warns him from meeting Adhya.

She also tells off the ridiculous behaviour of Anupama as a friend and romancing her fiancé while she was sick, now in her absence.

Shruti files for the custody of Adhya on grounds of negligence and mishandling trauma leading to him and Anupama being blacklisted from Adoption.

She also files a case of cheating and misusing his power and wealth for favours, unconsented selling an ancestral property and business (now i know that is a stretch) leading to him having to partake a big amount of money/capital.
