Rani is at it again with her gangster behavior. She was already controversial enough years ago during the actress panel about how mothers are at fault for raising rapist sons and women should learn to defend themselves. I thought the recent tragedy would temper her but she's still opening her mouth. Getting so much flack for this again.
And comments in the Reddit link below are pointing out that her own brother is a rapist. Rani's regressive attitude is because she's protecting him and she's even hired this rapist to work at YRF.
What??????
When did this happen?
OMG she makes movies like Mardaani and talks the exact opposite!!!!
Tell me what about those infant baby girls who are a victim? Do they play patriarchy?
This woman is Dumb! I had never seen this side of Rani. I liked her but after this statement of hers I cant support her.
Update: I think this post is fake. Rani didnt say this. It doesnt make sense. She herself has a daughter and I am sure she does have common sense. This is fake I guess.

She's always had very regressive comments towards women. Like claiming Anushka is ugly and Preity talks too much.
Agree with both of you about Aish. From what I've seen on IF, most of Aish's fans don't post here anymore because they were so frequently bullied. The few left usually remain silent because the non-stop antagonism against her never lets up. But IF does not reflect the composition of the real world public and Aish remains an audience favorite and female superstar, especially on a global level. The rabid hate against her here is just because fans of other actresses (or actors) feel extreme jealousy which is why they are so hyperfixated on Aish's looks.
Kim K comes to the Ambani wedding and only bothers to take a selfie with Aishwarya. She's the only Bollywood person that matters to her. Beyonce says Devdas is one of her favorite movies and loved Aishwarya in it. Aish has a status in both India and abroad that makes her an icon in a way no actress before her or after has has achieved (the closest was Sridevi but her popularity was mostly consigned to being a pan-India icon. Madhuri a superstar but only in North India. Priyanka has gone west but has no respect or credibility as an actress. Deepika is the closest to Aish's level with some international exposure).
Yes this forum has a problem with everything. Problem is the biasedness and jealousy due to which fans indulge in fan wars and blemish games.
Koi bhi choti choti reason leke uska Mountain banayenge and criticise karenge. All due to jealousy and blind fandom.

It was a few years back. Rani was part of a roundtable discussion with Deepika, Anushka, Taapsee, Tabu, and Alia. Rani got a lot of media attention for her tone-deaf remarks on how because of India's rape culture, women need to learn self-defense. How we cannot tell parents how to raise their sons to not be rapists but we can tell them to teach their daughters self-defense. And also how the mothers who raise rapists sons are the ones who need to change.
When Deepika and Anushka pushed back on how the burden should not lie with women to change and how not every woman is physically capable of self-defense, Rani had no response except to continue to push her views and make karate chop sounds. Like you said, an infant baby cannot do kung fu to stop a rapist.
I can't find the full roundtable discussion on YouTube anymore but here's a snippet with the most significant part.

You can find dozens of articles and Reddit threads calling Rani out. A big Rani fan from IF posted her defense of Rani on Reddit and on here, but her Reddit thread was trashed and downvoted because nobody felt Rani was being unfairly criticized.
Her issue seems to be that playing Mardaani, she thinks she really is that character and has that same skillset so now every woman should learn martial arts as she does on a simulated stage for her movies.
What was news to me was learning that her brother has a molestation case against him.
