Very strong start...I was not expecting her to try that.

Bilal is a chameleon, the way he stands, blabbers and acts out, Ibrahim is a timid guy filled with nervous energy. None of the swag Faizal Bash had made it to this drama.

Kudos to Bilal, Gohar, and Sabeena for their performance smiley32

Shabbir does everything with too much passion, very little patience. He loves Aliya, but Hates the politician guy in equal measures. And the talak reason is just incredibly stupid. He didn't even let her give her defence, just straight out punished her

Sabeena looks so pretty in straight hair and minimal makeup, but her makeup at the wedding night was garish, very typical in some area. I loved the look of hope she has when she feels Shabbir has come to get her after Nikkah and then back to being sad

Bilal is brilliant as Ibrahim. This guy never fails to impress me. The character is so different & not even a hint of his previous characters in it. The starting scene, those trembling hands, that monologue in his bedroom, this guy was born to be an actor.

Gohar is terrific in negative role. The scene where he hugs his mother after giving Aaliya haq mehar, he was so good there.

Sabeena is too good here. People who were skeptical about her & called Aaliya Barbeena 2 should watch her here.

They will go with the triple talaq issue but they made it clear through Ibrahim that a planned halala is a very big sin. They are going to address it well.

Enjoyed the first episode and the performances. Story is intriguing, fast paced. They have established it well that Halala is a big sin through Ibrahim.

Bilal is just a phenomenal actor..no trace of his previous characters in Ibrahim at all and he is equally good as Ibrahim. Sabeena and Gohar are also brilliant in their performances.

Had some Qs and would appreciate if someone clarified: Ibrahim was getting married to Aliyah in a secret wedding? What is a planned halala? And why is it a sin? I didn't really understand why Ibrahim was freaking out and worried that he will lose all his loved ones in heaven. If it is such a bad thing, then why did he agree to marry Aliyah? His tears and shaking hands -- the poor fella!

Also, why did Aliyah go to her friend's house? I didn't really get that -- it sounded like her friend's daughter died but then the friend's husband comes out with celebration drums? It was so strange.

I felt the lack of background music and utter silence in the initial scenes so deafening. We are used to background music to lift the mood and somehow the lack of music made it seem so heavy.

After three proper talaqs if a man & a woman want to get back together the woman has to marry someone else first, consummate her marriage with him then if the man divorces her willingly she can re marry the first husband. It’s called halala. Here Shabbir has divorced Aaliya in rage & now he wants her back. So he’s forcing her & Ibrahim for a halala so that she can marry him again. Ibrahim is well aware that it’s a major sin that’s why he’s reluctant. His family has died in an earthquake so he’s bothered that he won’t go to heaven & meet them again there as he has been part of a planned halala which is a grave sin.

Aaliya’s friend’s husband wants to settle scores with Shabbir so he’s using his wife’s friendship with Aaliya. That friend probably lied to Aaliya. There might be a continuation to that scene.

Lately some directors are avoiding using BGM to give scenes a realistic feel. IM also had some scenes without BGM.

Shabbir gave 3 talaqs to Aliya. If you give just one, then you are considered divorced. You get 3-4 months where you have to provide sustenance to your ex-wife and if you want to keep her, you can get married again to her. After 3 talaks you can't get married to her unless she married someone else. And her new husband divorces her.

Now, if you marry someone with the sole intention to give divorce after consummation, it's called Halala. It's considered a sin. Thats why Ibrahim is worried, he will never get to meet his deceased parents in heaven, because he is a sinner.

Aliya's friends husband is Shabbirs childhood enemy. He hates the politician guy and is standing in opposition. The guy just used the fact that Shabbir has anger issues against him. It was his plan to bring Aliyah to his house under the false pretence of a family emergency. And then record Aliyah leaving his house, as if to portray that Aliyah went to her friends house to celebrate the oppositions victory.

In Islam, after a husband gives the wife 3 talaqs, they cannot get back together unless there is a Halala nikka where wife gets married to someone else, consummates the marriage, and if that marriage doesn't work out, she can get remarried to her previous husband. However, Islam forbids if Halala is planned which is why the wedding was a privately held one.
Ibrahim knows it is a sin and that is why he was reluctant to go ahead with the marriage. Given his timid and submissive nature, it makes sense why he couldn't forcefully say no to the marriage despite not wanting to be a part of it.

Aliyah possibly went to her friend's house on hearing the friend's child had an accident/died as she was already accompanying her. On the other hand, the friend's husband who is a political rival of Shabbir was celebrating some kind of win. We will likely find out if this was staged or something else in the coming episode. When Shabbir sees her wife in the video he goes mad and gives her talaq since he already forbade her from meeting with that friend of hers because of their rivalry.
