Appreciate the long answer but nothing of this is related to what makers think about the show.

I am gujarati and let me tell you the way makers have portrayed the domestic housewife through Anupama is very caricaturist and extremely insulting and stereotypical.

Yes, some Gujarati women and even men for that matter do have an accent but more than that to their core Gujaratis are people who accept change and evolve. That is the reason you can find Gujaratis settled all over the world.

They love their roots but they also have a love for exploring the world and learning. Thepla khana ya saari pehna ya ek choti banana problem nahi hai Anupama ki.

All that is perfectly fine. No one cares, but where is the acceptance of her shortcomings? When will she at least try to learn, to evolve?

College gayi financial literacy ka course karne. Professor ko apna hi kuch suna diya. Resturant me jayegi, waha apna bhashan de degi. Business kar rahi thi tab bhi, apni hi bakwas kar li.

Matlab kabi toh insaan ye dikhaye ki okay...mujhe ye karna nahi aata. I want to learn from you, I will accept what you say without poking my nose in between and tooting my own horn!

And I am sorry, tumko ye torch bearer banana hai ki don't mock toh pehle makers ko bolo Gujarati women are not like this. They are the biggest mockers who are mocking all Gujarati women by allowing this nonsensical, weird portrayal to continue airing on TV.

No, no, you don't understand, if we mock actors for having fake racist stereotypical accents, then we are the real racists.

On a completely unrelated note, this is how all South Indians, Bengalis and Punjabis act and sound like

That still doesn't make it okay for the privileged audience to mock people's/character's class markers, disability, looks, clothes, education, caste, religion, and accent.

Makers are shit therefore we as audience can be prejudiced shits as well is not a thing.

This thread has been about fighting with me to justify mocking a woman's attire and accent because they don't like her rather than calling out OP for revealing personal info about their employee (i.e. age, sex, divorce status, even whether their clothes are secondhand or brand new) on the internet. That is just privileged and gross.

This is as much I am willing to engage with this conversation further.

Lol, everyone must sound like Anuj in Gujarat and those who do not must be faking it like an actor being directed to play a fictional character.

Nobody brought up RG in this thread while making "surri surri' jokes to absolutely call out the rich actor. Must have missed the point where this thread was about mocking RG's bad acting rather than mocking how a fictional character is comparable to OP's domestic worker and how incredulous it is that she attracts rich men. I lack reading comprehension Sorry my bad, my antiracist king.

Ek akhree sawaaal, yeh lamba bhashanaapney chatgpt sey likhwaya yaa upmaa sey? Kher, jawab nahi chahiye. This seems like one of those mysteries which are better left unsolved.

Bruh, I just said that it is not okay to mock anybody's social markers. You brought in theories about self-love to justify elitist comments. Self-love is a theory by Audre Lorde and she'd turning in her grave if she sees this thread about how women's looks and sweaters can be mocked just because they are annoying or lack self-love.

In thia thread and forum, I have called Upmaa an abuser and enabler many times (See, how I managed to insult her many times without bringing uo her sari, sweaters, looks, job? Not that hard, shocking, I know.) I must be a very bad propagandist

Anuj is the biggest victim on this forum despite being a privileged rich dude who creepily stalked a married woman, who didn't know his existence, for 26 years. Then got obsessed with his foster child to the point that he abandoned the same woman to go hassle the bio mom of the same child in another city (any parent apart from Maya would have called the cops on him), and now has catfished another woman. He is a grade-A creep fictional or not; so even I am out of this forum's Anuj propaganda and anti-sweater propaganda. Is forum being sponspered by BIG-JACKET? Genuine question.

Whiile you are at exposing how bad a propagandist I am, please call out the OP for using a real woman's love life as a literary prop to make fun of the annoying, abuser Anupamaa lol.

While people keep asserting that Maa was a "teen bride" who was confined within the four walls of her house and didn't got a chance to carve her own niche, they conveniently brush aside her lethargic attitude and lack of professionalism even after getting plethora of opportunities without an iota of experience/qualification. She was a victim of circumstances in her first marriage but her second chance was beautiful. Anuj literally made heaven and Earth meet for her sake. Even before their courtship started,he made her a partner in his business venture which was huge. She had golden opportunity to come out of that hell hole,to break the shackles and scale new heights BUT well the rest is history. Not only that, she kept abandoning every single opportunity due to her obsession with Shahs. Not a single project she pursued seriously.Isn't it shameful that she can't even pronounce basic English words correctly despite being taught multiple times? Can't she tie her hair properly and dress decently? Why she plays victim 24×7?Anuj did try to knock some sense into her but everything fell on deaf ears. I completely agree that one should not be mocked for their looks/accent but Anupama is a "laughing stock". She is nuts,a rare case,an epitome of idiocy never to be born again on this planet. That's it!😂😂😂

Main problem is Anupama’s attitude because her attire, her accent and her looks were all loved by the audience in the beginning for a long time.

People are mocking her now because of her attitude all the time. When people find fault in some ones character then they find fault in everything and if people like or love someone they neglect the said person’s fault.

In initially she was loved because everyone hoped that someday she will break all those shackles and fly. All those hopes were crashed by Anupama herself and it broke heart of those who loved her whole heartily.

So maybe it is not mocking for her looks, accent or attire but it is ex fans anger towards her which is coming out like this.

The fault lies with makers too that for the sack of episodes count they are not showing any progress in Anupama’s character. She said something and does something else. They are the one who are making the mockery of there female lead.

I don’t understand now that how they will end this show when they have perfectly established that Anupama can’t grow up now. She can’t leave her baggage no matter how much time had passed. She doesn’t know how to fix things. Long lectures don’t solve or fix anything at all.

From what I see now that now she don’t have any family where she can go back at her own will except Anuj(but she doesn’t wants to do anything with him). Her bio kids care about her at their convenience or if they need something from her. She can’t live with them without getting taunts. Or they can throw her out any moment. She will never be able to live with them carefully so we can’t say them her home.

She goes to alone from having everyone. She lost everything because of her actions.

What do you exactly want? I get your views but I don’t think anyone is bothered here right now with it.

For classism, sexism, and ableism to be not be platformed on a public forum where people can read it? Posters here can bring up their employees' personal info and not be bothered about it despite doing mental gymastics to justify it. I can be annoyed by it and call it out without bothering about what or what not makers intend to do with a bad show watched by millions.

What Shahi or the posters here want bothers me in no way to not call out elitism and prejudice lol.
