You, or rather Abhishek Banerjee (OpIndia's one, not Mumtaz Banerjee's nephew) beat me to it. Those who asked why not schools or hospitals built neither, b'cos atheists like these tend to be more socialist, rather than Ayn Randesque Libertarians. In fact, we need to amend Article 30 to allow Hindus to set up our own educational institutions that can teach our scriptures, Vedic math, & all our ancient arts to kids whose proclivities are in that direction (like the brilliant kid above who made Shri Rama's image from a whole bunch of Rubiks cubes). Similarly, Ayurvedic medicine should be freed from government shackles that cap their earnings, & they should be allowed to compete on the open market. Maybe even have Ayurvedic hospitals built. In fact, in pre-islamic India, temples used to have collateral activities, like banking, gurukuls, Ayurvedic clinics & so on
We do have educational institutions that are related to Hinduism, and they do teach us about purans and havans, and Sankskrit too, though the board they are associated with the central board in most cases, so the students learn English, Science, Maths as per that system.

Completely agree about ayurvedic medicines, they have been made expensive for the basic person, hence they prefer using market prescribed medication, even with side effects.
