Ram Navami 2024 is on 17th April, Wednesday.

Wednesday is generally avoided. Its day of Mercury, dual in Nature.

Ram Navmi tithi begins on 16th April at 01:23 pm.

Ends on 17th April at 03:14 pm.

Nakshtra- Ashlesha, which not considered that good for an event like Pran Pratishtha.

Most important Abhijeet is not there on 17th April.

To sum up, neither Nakshatra, day, are auspicious for such a major event.

Though tithi is Navmi, but other factors are weak for Shri Ram Lalla's idol's Pran Pratishtha.

Interesting that the Shankaracharyas didn't factor all that in. But couldn't it have been done on 16th April, had that been the obstacle?

To be fair, the Shilanyas was opened during Rajiv Gandhi, & he launched his 1989 election campaign from Ayodhya, which is not too far from his home constituency Amethi. One of his election promises was to bring about Ram Rajya, but by then, he was too damaged by the Bofors scandal & the assaults of former aides like VP Singh & Arun Nehru. I recall a cartoon after he lost, saying that the people liked his Ram Rajya promise so much that they decided to start w/ vanvas

Note that Congress in the 80s or 90s, though secular, was not as virulently anti-Hindu as it became this century under Sonia. Now it is so bad that even when they have decent Hindu leaders like in Chattisgarh or Telengana, they don't gather traction

He had a reason to open the gates, he let shahbano and other Muslim women to be degraded by their husbands and triple talaq, overturned the SC verdict to please Muslim men which made hindus angry that's why he opened the gates to please hindus

Yeah, what happened to the idols that were there in the Shilanyas tents all these years? Where did they go?

The original statue of Shri Rama was moved to Orcha when the original Ayodhya 🛕 was demolished. It's there to this day in a 🛕 there, so would not be moved, since it ended up making that place a pilgrim site in its own right
