Rocky aur Rani is probably the best movie of the year..so idk how KJo failed..? Movies that made massive money this year are substandard..I’ll take Rocky aur Rani and Dunki over the money spinners..

I agree Dunki is the worst Hirani movie but it is Hirani we are talking about - even his worst is one of the best movies of the year with many good moments and is a hit financially. As someone who loves his movies I would hope that he is back in form in his next. Even if that does not happen, can't take away the credit for Munnabhai movies and 3 idiots.

RARKPK - I found the Ema angle cringey and uncomfortable to watch but the movie was otherwise good one time watch - Ranveer was in great form and very lovable and Alia was beautiful and beautifully styled. Again the movie is a hit financially.

So, not sure what we are complaining about.

Both Bawaal and Archies were not released in theatres - so no way to measure financial success. Even if they are bad in quality, one bad movie does not mean much if these directors can bounce back in their next movie.

And, most cinema fans don't care about box-office results if they like a movie. Talaash is one of the best movies of Aamir's illustrious career, and it wasn't exactly a money spinner. Dear Zindagi is SRK's best effort since Chak De. It wasn't a hit either.

In a few years from now, who'd even watch craps like Pathaan or Jawan? Yet, they were huge blockbusters.

Animal is the biggest hit of Ranbir's career, but I'm pretty sure most people loved him more in movies like Barfi, Rocket Singh, Rockstar, etc.

RRKPK was a success, and for many people it is one of their fave films of the year and many have watched it multiple times

Agreed. Dunki however is not in that category

If you take out Ranveer’s endearing and superlative performance, RARKPK didn’t exactly hit it home like you would expect from a KJo movie. Most of the movie was cringe promax. Even the music was not up to the mark.

This year all the movies were heavily shouldered by the male actors and their performances. A great year for the Hindi Cinema Box Office and also for its leading male actors. Not a very encouraging year for most of its female stars though, if you exclude the OTT. And the future for them looks  pretty grim too with the action movies threatening to takeover the industry.

as said these days people into numbers n even some worry in movies budget then whether majority audience liked it based on ratings. Even now the ratings sometimes can be manipulated. Yet it’s good that people like some movies that not money spinners yet we have to know that majority did not like it whatever reason as it didn’t translate into numbers or have repeat value n why? . We have had clashes and they showed whom the audience wanted. However this time we also had controversy surrounding movies so who knows. Then this year we had Gardar 2 n Animal two movies without coherent stories become money spinners it’s cray 😜 cray 😜 year !!
