ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Warm-Up Schedule & Time Table

Hello friends, here is the thread for all World Cup Warm-Up match discussions. smiley4


A total of 10 warm-up matches will be played in five days, with each team playing two matches.

The matches will be 50-over games but will not have official one-day international (ODI) status as sides will be allowed to use all members of their 15-strong squads in the matches. 

The Cricket World Cup gets underway on October 5 when England takes on New Zealand at the 134,000-seater stadium in Ahmedabad, and the nations are busy getting in shape before that.

During the main competition, the sides will all play each other once in a round-robin group format, but a number will have a chance to eye up the opposition in some warm-up matches.

The warm-up games offer captains and coaches a chance to finalize their first-choice XI, work out matchups, and get used to the conditions in India.

The warm-up matches take place between September 29 and October 3 in three different cities in India: Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad.

All 10 teams taking part in the World Cup (India, England, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, South Africa) will have two warm-up matches each ahead of the tournament.

The warm-up matches for the Cricket World Cup 2023 will begin on Friday. The 10 teams will each play two official 50-over contests during the week leading up to the start of the World Cup on October 5. The matches will be held in three different cities across India. According to ICC, the teams will be allowed to field all members of their 15-player squads during the matches.

 A total of six teams will be playing cricket tomorrow which includes - Pakistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Afghanistan.

After meeting in the Asia Cup 2023, the two teams will go head-to-head once again ahead of the mega tournament. A total of 10 cricket team are getting ready to fight for the prestigious World Cup trophy.

Pakistan (PAK) and New Zealand (NZ) will face each other in the third warm-up match ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 today at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. 

After receiving a warm welcome following their arrival in India, Babar Azam and co had their first practice session on Thursday. 

The Men in Green had a disappointing outcome in the Asia Cup 2023, and they will surely look for a positive result when they go head-to-head against Kane Williamson's Kiwis.

New Zealand also lost their ODI series against England, with key players like their captain missing from the team. There is still no update on whether Williamson will play tomorrow's clash or not. Key pacer Tim Southee also injured his finger recently, but is back in the team after receiving a green light from the medical staff.

Tom Latham: It's great he (Williamson) will play some part. He will come out to bat later today. Some guys have been in Bangladesh, some of us have been back home. So we need to adapt to the conditions and heat. These warm-up games will help. Southee is not here, but rest of the players are available.

Babar Azam: We are batting first. We will try to asssess the conditions and put runs on the board. We are excited to play the World Cup. Many boys are playing here for the first time. We will try to utilize our 15 players.
