If you give her a chance DP will always deliver. Never seen an actress elevate her opportunities to the level that she did with her sheer screen presence and aura in Jawan (which I have just finished watching). Whether a meaty role or paper thin plot doesnโt matter.
Also normalize not comparing her with Alia. Alia is great in her own way, but I do feel she lacks organic stardom, unlike DP. Alia just doesn't match up to DP's aura.
Deepika is an all-rounder; Alia is a good actress but lacks that quintessential something which heroines need. Can't put my finger on it, but DP is miles ahead of Alia.
I just wish people had watched Chapaak in theatres more. her solo film which she carried on her shoulders. However, given the subject matter (grim/dark) and given DP's de-glam avatar, not surprising at all.
A genuine comparison I feel is not needed. DP is light years ahead and I hope she thrives till a ripe old age.
Thoughts????
