sev, if you tried to be sarcastic, that is lost on me 😉

I tried to be clear that I question the 'overwhelming' victory in 2019 like I question a lot of what the current government did/does.

I also question things the congress party did in the past/now does in Karnataka.

No wonder I do that because, generally, politics are dirty (not only Indian politics but politics in general...

However, I have nothing against movies about certain events/incidents/human deeds mostly unknown/suppressed/concealed as long as they are not blatantly supporting a one-sided agenda but - in the contrary - trying to show the two sides of the coin...

An absolut no-go - to me - is the use of religion in politics regardless of 'right/left/centre', the use of violence for political gains and different use of law for different people (all this is done worldwide in some way or other...in India since 2014 by the government by far too often disrespecting the own constitution).

Clochette in all honesty that is your own ignorance of not understanding how a nation like India operates. Religion simply cannot be separated from politics in India. It is the basis for education/job quotas/reservations. For God’s sake, we don’t even have a Uniform Civil Code. This is KEY. So how exactly do you separate religion from politics? I genuinely urge you to read up and do your research instead of making generic statements that do not account for any nuances. Wish people would stop living in some fairytale lala land, geez.

I won't tell you what I think about Germany's current state of affairs here in this forum which deals with the Hindi/Indian filmindustry...and if there weren't certain kind of discussions about certain movies supported by current politics, I probably would not even write about Indian politics and my own reservations...

I had been several times in India, Max...and not once as a tourist but for work, experiencing Indian life. During all my stays, I mainly used public transport and never lived in a first class hotel but in a hostel or middle class hotel. My personal contacts had only be Indians and even if they did not understand English, there was still an understanding.

Nevertheless, it's your prerogative to make you an image of the person I probably be. So be it! 😊

And you're right, without the six Hindi mainstream movies one gave me to watch to get me out of a beginning depression (five of them with SRK), I would not be here and tell you about my opinions relative to politics.

That's why I dislike politics (and here Indian ones) because most often than not politcs go against humanity. Yet politics are made/done/executed by persons so everything done in the name of politics depends on the personalities of those involved in politics.

I don't live in a La-La-Land, you just has got this impression. I know through own experiences that without politics Indians would first value the personality of a fellow Indian instead of thinking in stereotypes attatched to religious beliefs. I cannot stress more that religion comes to the forefront when - generally negative - behaviour is tried to get excused.

I think, one could know by now, that to me, religion is never the main aspect when looking at the behaviour of a person when I get the feeling that religion is used as a tool and not as a spiritual concept.

This is because you view things from a Western gaze. Indian society doesn’t operate like that. And staying in an Indian hostel or travelling by public transport doesn’t mean that Western viewpoint disappears. We are the same group of people that drive over a coconut when we buy a new car. The same who start Dhanteras with pooja at the office for prosperity. Religion is so intertwined with everyday life, and by extension, politics too. They aren’t separate entities even if you’d like them to be. And let’s not pretend this is just an Indian thing. Why do you think there was a massive controversy around Obama and his name? American political leaders still make it a point to show how much of a practicing Christian they are to get votes. You can have all the wishful thinking you want, it just isn’t a reality.

It seems to me that it makes no sense to continue this conversation. I get the feeling that you can't accept that I understand how Indians think and live, that I know how much religion is part of their day to day life and still can have a point of view about the misuse of religion.

And I also get the feeling that you don't read what exactly I write otherwise you won't feel the need to tell me that "Religion is so intertwined with everyday life, and by extension, politics too. They aren’t separate entities..." and "let’s not pretend this is just an Indian thing".

However, no hard feelings from my side... 😊

Certainly, there had been (and still are and will be) many more incidents with paid people to pose as Muslims ...or incidents are invented and published as if they did happen...or videos are made and then posted of staged incidents... (this way, one can even do terrorist acts and blame other people...the German leader in 1939 needed an incident to start a war/annect another country by making German soldiers posing as Polish partisans doing a kind of terror act)... today faking 'facts' to support a certain narrative and/or justify a certain 'reaction' is even much easier than about 80 years ago.

The pattern is always the same with evil and corrupt people...

Look at Imran Khan who stand upon the truth... How they ganged up against him..

„When a bunch of known corrupt people unite against one man and spare no effort to ridicule him, blackmail him and attempt to assassinate his character, blindly follow that one man!“ — Marcus Aurelius, book Meditations

Same goes with religion.. when they ganged up and spare no effort to malign that religion and people, blindly follow it ... evil will always suppress the truth..

So the whole movie is in black and white? Just like Bheed? Its actually interesting. They're showing the afterlife I believe. Doesn't really look anti-Muslim. Its focusing more on how youngsters are brainwashed into becoming terrorists. Right wing may not even like this film because the movie is humanizing the terrorists.

The concept of 72 virgins is not believed by all Muslims because its not written in Quran.
