Like some people and I said the reason why some audience are not able to connect to Meerab's character is because of the lack of monologues….Colored Text yes that’s right. Ppl see what’s obvious and what’s shown…had there been monologues of Meerab the way we have had for Murtasum then things would have been different. Ppl neither have patience nor understanding to go or understand the dept of her character and analyse the way it’s done here which is remarkable.
Meerab got a loving, rich and caring husband. True. But it does not compensate the loss she had. She lost a loving family and she got to know the truth that she was Anwar's daughter who gave her away when she was a baby.Colored Text if she was smart enough she would realise that she has got married in an equally loving family who are understanding her tantrums coz they know they were wrong somewhere. I don’t think Anwar giving her up is anything thst drastic coz he knew and so did Murtasum dad that she is going in a very loving family and she would be kept like a princess…had they just handed her over to anybody then that would have been horrible but that was not the case. Also they knew she will be raised right in front of them and they would be in constant touch with her.
The things which she lost are much more than the love she got from Murtasim….Colored Text… let’s agree to disagree .
And like someone mentioned the way the truth was revealed was insensitive. They had the option of revealing the truth in a calmer environment after taking her to Karachi. Not only the truth but also the way the truth was revealed was so hurtful to Meerab. Colored Text yes I am with you on this 100%. ….there were ways to do so in a better way, more sensitive way. This is the biggest ABSURDITY of this show.
Meerab has always considered Rohail as a good friend. So may be if she has not married Murtasim and if Rohail proposed to her there is a possibility of her rejecting him.Colored Text maybe ..maybe not.
May be she would have gotten married to someone who has a progressive thinking. Colored Text again that’s a question mark …maybe or maybe not
And her life would have been free from Maa Begum's continuous taunts and Haya's constant obsession of Murtasim. May be she would have a peaceful life. Murtasim fell in love with Meerab so he is putting so many efforts to win her heart. What if he had not fallen in love with her and was only considering this marriage as a responsibility. Meerab's life would have been very difficult.Colored Text but that didn’t happen na…what actually happened was that Murtasum has been bending backwards since the day they got married giving in to all her demands, whims and fancies…Given his power and status he could have said hell with you and moved on. I am sure there wouldn’t have been dearth of girls for him.Meerab lied because she wanted this marriage for her to have a safe place from where she will not get thrown out. If she had said that she hated him he might not have agreed to marry her. Meerab is a grey character Colored Text she is a grey character ..ABSOLUTELY….no need to say any further
and her thinking about herself is not unexpected. I feel that her rude behaviour is because she considers him responsible because he had not said no when he had the chance. I think the writer also mentioned this in the interview if I am not wrong. As audience we know about his refusal but Meerab does not know. In her mind, she has this thinking that he has the power so if he had said no to the marriage then the elders would not have proceeded with the marriage.
And then she would have gone back and lived her life happily with her adoptive parents. Colored Text Do you really think so ? I doubt it coz the way she was just left at the house , I don’t think things would have been the same for her with her adoptive parents.
Colored Text The biggest injustice Nooran did to her character is the lie she told to Murtasum when he asked her if she still hates him. Her saying EK PAL BAHUT HOTA HAI KISI KE LIYE NAFRAT KHATAM KARNEY KE LIYE ( such positive words ) put her character down badly and raised Murtasum’s notches above and this is INJUSTICE . To make Murtasum look good , Meerab had to be put down which was not fair. I would have held Murtasum responsible and not sympathise with him the way I do now had those particular words not been spoken.
Colored Text You are biased towards Meerab and me towards Murtasum We are both ok in our own ways 😊
