Looking back all episodes and characters it’s quite heartbreaking situation
Meerab Happy go lucky, Free spirited girl who was raised to be independent.with no restrictions and was always vocal about her choices and thoughts with dreams of becoming lawyer just like her father who she both both loves and idolises is suddenly thrown into maze where she is told what she loved , believed to be her own and stood up is not hers and she is mere Amanat given away to one man to raised as daughter just because her useless of biological father didn’t want her as his beloved died during child birth then and now after all these years he is spineless to correct the mistake or stand up for her and is being given to another man to be his wife!!
It’s quite wrong at all levels! No women should be made to go thru this kind of situation.
Meerab had one chance when at wedding she said no and should have walked away! gone would be all respect the family talks about or at-least she could have asked her right to study instead of no physical contact contract!
All of meerabs resentment and those words directed towards muriasim are justified as to her he had both power and reason to say No to wedding and could have saved her from this ordeal deal but still he goes ahead even after knowing she is being forced as unlike her none could have forced him nor did he have anything to loose .
I really hope she doesn’t fall for his charms and only softens after he gives in to her fair demands like letting her study law and accepting him and marriage should be her choice not out of some obligation!
Murtasim - Old school feudal lord who has both his head and heart at right place. Respects elders and is loved by all his people . Protective of his family respect and ideals and also his people.
He never came across arrogant but was always irritated by how meerab and her actions are always cause for headache to him and his family! He just never understood why was she so important for family and why her actions impacted them. She was always the unnecessary headache .
He does say NO to marriage with her very clearly and loudly , but with her he just toys around and says she can do the work herself why should he damage his reputation just to egg her but we know he would have never walked down the aisle if not for that she is Anawars daughter twist!
Nothing not even gods can justify that slap! If they wanted the fall in his arms scene they could have come up with something creative or cliched but not slap! This is and will always remain RED spot on his character !
Even after knowing who she is and her plight he does soften up , sympathise with her or maybe somewhere can understand her pain but he does say Yes to wedding only after meerab says yes! He does double confirms with her and even asks her to give him time to sort things out !
So he walks to wedding with bygones be bygones and clean slate with his new relationship with her! It’s totally justified But him falling for her seems rushed , wish it could have been more gradual.
As he himself admits the more she moves way the more he is getting pulled towards her!
Especially when she leaves no opportunity to show her dislike for this marriage and how she was forced into it! Her bitter words are really bitter and truth of your marriage with her.
It’s sad that he will be in for huge heartbreak especially when he is putting so much effort in this marriage to work (even after Nikkah and walkma fiasco).Each day he tries to be the supportive husband she deserves but she shoots all this instantly with her icy behaviour and retorts! Forget noticing she has no intention in making this marriage work!
So for a man who has always been respected , loved and adored who is quite fair and logical doesn’t deserve the heartbreak he is in for second time ( who ever was his first love and what so ever happened) .
Two unanswered questions
Bebe Meerab why don’t u ever ask your husband why did he slap you ? You need to bring this ans make him answer. He is accountable for that inspite all the chemistry he is cooking .
