Kantara box office: Rishab Shetty film outperforms Ponniyin Selvan 1 in Hindi
The Hindi version of Kantara is also maintaining a steady trend at the box office despite two big releases, Akshay Kumar’s Ram Sethu and Ajay Devgan’s Thank God. The film has collected nearly Rs 30 crore in the Hindi belt and is not showing any signs of slowing down yet.
According to another trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Kantara outearned director Mani Ratnam’s latest blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan: 1 in the Hindi belt. “#Kantara Hindi has crossed #PS1 Hindi Lifetime Nett in India.,” he tweeted.
As per media reports, Kantara has collected more than Rs 200 crore from its worldwide ticket sales. Karnataka remains the film’s most profitable market to date where it is said to have sold Rs 100 crore worth of tickets.

The Kozhikode Sessions Court has issued an injunction barring Kantara makers from playing the “Varaha Roopam” song in theatres and other streaming platforms after receiving a plagiarism complaint from Kerala-based music band, Thaikudam Bridge. The popular indie music band earlier took to social media platforms to announce that they are taking legal action against the makers of Kantara for allegedly plagiarising their song “Navarasam”, which was released in 2015. They claimed that Kantara song “Varaha Roopam” is a plagiarised work based on “Navarasam”.

Varaha Roopam is the main song along with deity dance in beginning of movie and in climax.
If this song is banned, movie will loses its charm and impact.
Kantara Box Office Day 29 (Hindi): Keeps Collecting Over 1 Crore
Kantara [Hindi] is continuing to collect over 1 crore at the box office, what with Friday numbers coming to 1.25 crores. This is quite good, considering the fact that the film is in fact running in its fifth week. What’s all the more remarkable is that there is absolutely no drop in collections when compared to the day before. The film had brought in 1.25 crores on Thursday and now with Friday being the same as well, a good jump in numbers all over again is set for today and tomorrow.
