I could never stomach the mendak - sherni romance and tho many relatives were watching I didn't.. It was so adolescent and so silly with the separations and divorces. I started watching tbe sirat track then went back and caught up on the main stuff from the previous one. I'm telling you I found kartik-sirat much more mature and convincing..very very unpopular opinion.
The early romance when Kartik and Naira met in Rishikesh seemed very fresh to me - once they came back to Udaipur and especially after marriage, it became less interesting. And it was ridiculous that with thier deep deep love, all it manifested was as silly romantic scenes but they couldn't navigate one single conflict in their life without separating. Someone (maybe you?) made the point on the mothership, that Kartk and Sirat had a longer and more stable relationship than Kaira who spent maybe 5 years out of what 15? together...
