With the hype of the PTV awards still very much in the air, here's news of all the mismanagement and badtamezi that happened behind the stage - enough to burst your bubble as they say about the slick execution of the ceremony. Let alone the newcomers, our snoop squad told us that the security wallahs manhandled old seasoned artistes who have given their blood, sweat and tears to make PTV what it's today. One such stalwart was Abid Ali who was given dhakay by the guards and he very nearly boycotted the event and was walking away in a fit of fury, if it hadn't been for some producers who begged and cajoled him into staying. And then there was Seemi Raheel who was literally reduced to tears and made to get off the car and walk some 1km to the Convention Center. Is that what we call honouring our stars?
No more movies
Things are really bubbling in the pop world. After a long absence from the scene, Sajjad Ali, we are told is in the final stages of completing his latest album. And no he is not planning any more movies even though his last offering; Aik Aur Love Story was somewhat a success because of its captivating soundtrack. Maybe the lad has realised once and for all that singing is where his talents really bloom.

More news from the crooning front. Singer Faakhir is said to be in India these days where he is trying to get some company to release his album locally. And on the way back, he will be visiting the Holy Land for Hajj. So congrats to him. Then we have some news from Junaid Jamshed. He's all set to open up a swanky outlet in Isloo, right in the middle of Jinnah Super. Here's wishing both him and Faakhir a bundle of good luck.
Never Say Die
And then we have Madeeha Shah who has taken the phrase Never Say Die to heart and refuses to discard it. The latest in her attempts to make a comeback is the news that she is doing the video of Qawwal Badr Miandad. For all those who are interested (stop yawning!) the video is to be shot in many nice locations including the Rohtas fort. And there's still more. Mad-hee-haw has also engaged the services of a leading beautician and a designer to give her that mesmerising appeal. Ah well...
Oldies goldies?
We are talking about the blama belle Salma who was recently in the US of A for a couple of shows. But it seems that even the folks abroad have gotten over the lady in a big way. She had taken a Paki boy, Habib - who made quite a name for himself with his gender-bending act as a dancer, to a show she was doing in Los Angeles. Seems this dancer was very good and the audience was quite smitten by his charms. In fact they liked him (her?) so much that every time s/he ended his act and Salma Agha came to sing, the audience would boo her off and hoot for Habib. Hmm!
Latest on Ajab Gul
Last but certainly not least; we have the latest on Ajab Gul's much-awaited follow-up to his well-received directorial debut Khoae Ho Tum Kahan. Well everything seems to have fallen in place quite well and we were told that the film's camera has been closed which means that the shooting has finished. Ajab has also done the film's trailer. But there's a hitch that has to be cleared before it hits the airwaves. The gent still hasn't been able to come up with an appropriate title for his magnum opus. You might remember that he had invited fans and well wishers to send him suggestions. But apparently he didn't receive any captivating suggestions hence the lack of a title for the project. But now we are told that he's very much in the process of coming up with an appropriate title - as intriguing and catchy as the last one. So watch out for some interesting news on this front.
