CHAPTER 31

If you don't agree with the concept of the story as well as my point of view (POV) of story presentation, kindly DO NOT READ THIS STORY!

FLASHBACK
On Holika Dehan day at midnight three figures dressed in black stealthily crept out of Pandey house (Madhuban) towards an abandon and secluded part of Pandey Estate hiding from its security. The three figures reached an abandon hut present inside Pandey Estate premises. Rajveer, Rudra and Geet entered the hut and saw two gentlemen standing. One seemed like a lawyer and the other man had a familiar face which Rajveer, Rudra and Geet felt they knew. Geet was first to recognise the man and ran to him and clung to him crying, "Kaka-sa, aap itne varsh kahaan the?" (Uncle, where were you for so long?)
"Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singh, hummein toh laga thaa ki aap humse koi sarokaar nahi rakhna chahte the?" (We all felt that you, Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singh don't want to have any contact with us three orphans?) Rajveer said sarcastically.
"Yeh aapse kisne kaha Rajkumar Rajveer?" (Who said this to you Prince Rajveer?)
"Hum 'Rajkumar' nahi hai." (I'm not a 'Prince'.) Rajveer said in anger.
"Ek baath humesha yaad rakhiyega ki naa toh hum apna ateeth aur naa hi apni virasat badal sakte hain." (Always remember one thing that neither can we change our past nor our geneology.)
"Pranam Kaka-sa." (Salutations Uncle (Kaka-sa.)) Rudra said touching his feet.
"Jeete rahiye Rajkumar Rudra." (Blessings to you Prince Rudra.)
"Kaka-sa, hummein toh laga ki aap..." (Uncle, we thought that you...)
"Hum jaante hain. Kintu abhi pehle vakeel Dinesh Bhai ke laaye huye kaagazon par hastakshar kijiye phir ekaanth mein vratalaap karenge." (I know. But first sign the papers got by Advocate Dinesh Bhai and then we will talk in privacy.)
"Yeh kaise kaagaz hain?" (What papers are these?) Rajveer asked suspiciously.
"Rajkumar, aapke par-dadaji, Bade Maharaj Tribhuvandas ke do bete Maharaj Krishandev aur aapke Dada-sa Rajkumar Mahadev Singhji the. Maharaj Krishandevji aur Rajkumar Mahadev Singhji sautele(step brothers) bhai the. Iss liye Maharaj Tribhuvandasji ne apni aisi vasiyat bannayi ki Vallabhgarh ka rajye, raj sampatti, raj karye ka uttardayitav ityaadi tabh ke Yuvraj Krishandev ko milega. Kintu Bade Maharaj Tribhuvandasji ki neeji sampatti mein se aadhi sampatti Rajkumar Mahadev Singhji yaani aapke dada-sa aur unke vanshajon arthaat unke parivaarwalon ko milegi. Yeh jaankar Maharaj Krishandev aur unke ke putr, tab ke Yuvraj Bhim Singh ne Rajkumar Mahadev Singhji ke parivaar ko maut ke ghaat utaarane ka faisla kiya. Akasmath, aapke Dada-sa Rajkumar Mahadev Singhji ki mrityu ghursawari ke dauraan ko gayi. Uske pashchaat pehla vaar Yuvraj Bhim Singh ne aapke pitaji yaani Rajkumar Madhav Singhji aur aapki maa-sa par kiya jisse unn dono ki turant mrityu go gayi. Dusara jaan leva vaar Yuvraj Bhim Singhji ne Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singhji par kiya. Uske pashchaat Yuvraj Bhim Singhji ne Maharaj Tribhuvandasji ki saari neeji sampatti par gair kanooni roop se kabza kar liya kyunki unhein laga ki Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singhji ki mrityu ho gayi hai. Jiss kaaran Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singhji aur aap teeno bhaiyon aur aapki ladki behan ko samaaj ke samaksh paise-paise ke liye mohtaaj hona padha. Kintu bhagwan ki aseem kripa se Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singhji bach gaye. Parantu, Maharaj Bhim Singhji ko iss baat ka abhi tak gyaat nahi. Aur abb itne varshon poorv Maharaj Bhim Singhji jab vridhh ho chale hain aur unka koi waaris arthaath putr nahi. Iss liye unhein Vallabhgarh ke rajye ki suraksha chintith kar rahi hai, kyunki abb unke jesth jawaai-sa, Jaichand Khandelwal swayam ko "raj gaddi" ka uttaradhikaari (heir) samajhte hain. MagarVallabhgarh ki rajya pratha ke anusaar kewal ek putr hi Vallabhgarh ki"raj gaddi" par beith sakta hai." Iss liye woh aap teeno ko apna pratidwandhi samajhte hain aur aapko mrityulok pauhchna chahte hain!" (Your Highness, your great grandfather, the Senior Maharaj Tribhuvandas had two sons, elder was Maharaj Krishandev and younger your grandfather Rajkumar Mahadev Singh. Maharaj Krishandev and Rajkumar Mahadev Singh were step (half) brothers. Hence, Senior Maharaj Tribhuvandas had made his will that after his demise, Vallabhgarh's Kingdom, Vallabhgarh's royal properties as well as anything else related to the kingdom will be in the name of that time Crown Prince Krishandev. However Senior Maharaj Tribhuvandas' personal property will be exactly divided in two and will be henceforth in Rajkumar Mahadev Singh's family and his progeny. Hearing this Maharaj Krishandev and his son, that time Crown Prince Bhim Singh were furious. They wanted to finish whole of Rajkumar Mahadev Singh's family. Therefore after the sudden death of Rajkumar Mahadev Singh due to an accident while riding, the first attack Crown Prince Bhim Singh did was on Rajkumar Madhav Singh and your mother and both of them died on the spot. Second attack he did on Prince Rajeshwar Singh and presuming him to be dead by illegal means converted Senior Maharaj Tribhuvandas' personal property in his name. Thereby making Prince Rajeshwar Singh, you two brothers and your sister penniless in front of society. But by God's Grace Prince Rajeshwar Singh was saved of which fortunately, Maharaj Bhim Singh is not aware of this. Now Maharaj Bhim Singhji is old and is on his death-bed and is worried about the security and welfare of Vallabhgarh's Kingdom, Vallabhgarh's royal properties. As he has no apparent heir i.e. no son his eldest son-in-law, Jaichand Khandelwal is putting pressure for Maharaj Bhim Singh to crown him the king. But according to Vallabhgarh's rules only a son can be crowned as a "King". Hence, Jaichand is frantically looking to remove you three from his way!)
"Toh kaka-sa, itne din kahaan the?" (So where was Uncle for so long?) Rudra asked.
"Kanhaji ki atyant kripa thee ki uss vaar mein, Kunwar Rajeshwar Singhji ki jaan toh bach gayi parantu woh ek mahine tak coma mein the. Uske pashchaat jab inhein hosh aaya toh unki yaadashth chali gayi thee. Abhi kuch varsh poorv hi inki yaadasht waapis aayi hai. Iss liye jab Rajkumar Madhav Singhji aur aapki maa-sa ki antim yatra thee, Rajkumar Rajeshwar Singhji haspataal mein murchit awasthaa mein the. Abb aap teeno apne Dada-sa ki sampatti ko apnayiye aur inn kaagazon par hastakshar kijiye. Humne Vallabhgarh ke waris ke roop mein Yuvraj Rajeshwar Singhji ke hastakshar pehle hi le liye hain." (By God's Grace, Prince Rajeshwar Singh was saved from that attack but he was in coma for a month. By the time Prince Rajeshwar Singh was able to regain his consciousness he was suffering from amenesia. Couple of years back only his memory has returned. Hence, when your parent's last rites were being performed he was lying unconscious in hospital fighting for his life. Now three of you please sign these papers and accept your great grandfather's property. I have already taken Crown Prince Rajeshwar Singh's signature as future heir to the throne of Vallabhgarh.)
PRESENT
"That means you Veer Bhai and Rudra are "Princes" and Geet is "Princess" ?" Maan said slowly trying to understand the absurd connection.
"Yes we are for the citizens of Vallabhgarh. However till we are not officially coronated we will be only addressed as 'Rajkunwar' . Once Geet returns, both Geet and you will also be coronated as "Princess" and "Prince" respectively."
"WHAT NONSENSE? HOW CAN I BE A PRINCE?"
"As you are Geet's husband and Geet is a "princess" similarly...but now most important is to first find Geet as her life maybe in grave danger!"
One day turned into two, then three and slowly two week passed. In these two weeks Maan tried all ways by hook or crook but he could not find Geet. He even got detectives to search in Mussoorie, all big Indian, US and UK cities but it was of no use. Then one day after two and a half weeks after Geet's departure, Police arrived at Madhuban (Pandey's Residence). Delhi Police had got an information from Dehradun Police that Miss Geetali Singhania and a female friend by name of Miss Charulata Dass were travelling together by bus from Dehradun to New Delhi when their bus met with an accident and all passengers in the bus died on spot. Police managed to trace Miss Geetali Singhania and Miss Charulata Dass from their luggage on the bus as due bus falling down from the hill, no body was found. Police brought the two suitcases. When Maan opened one suitcase it had clothes belonging to Geet and lot of pictures of Maan
leaving no doubt that the suitcase is Geet's. Rajveer opened other suitcase to find Mrs. Dass
as well as Geet,
Charulata and his photograph thereby confirming that suitcase belonged to Charulata.
After seeing the contents of the suitcase, there was a thud and Rajveer was lying on the floor. With help of Vicky, Rudra and servants Rajveer was made to lie on the couch/sofa present in the room. Thakur Vidyasagar and Thakurain Sushma Rani were sitting frozen after being confirmed by Maan that suitcase belonged to his Mishty. Thakur Harshvardhan and Ram were trying to revive Thakur Vidyasagar. Whereas Thakurain Savitri Devi and Vaidehi were trying to revive Thakurain Sushma Rani from their trance like state. By Rudra and Vicky's efforts Rajveer soon revived. As everyone was busy in reviving the sick and unconscious no one noticed that Maan was standing frozen since he had opened the suitcase and had neither moved nor spoken even one word. Finally Maan spoke as if to himself rather than anyone else, "NAHI MERI MISHTY MUJHE KABHI CHODH KAR NAHI JAA SAKHTI. KABHI NAHI!" (NO MY MISHTY CAN NEVER LEAVE ME AND GO. NEVER!) Saying in anger Maan walked out of the room in thundering anger scaring Savitri Devi and Vaidehi.
Once Rajveer had revived from his unconscious spell in his weak moment he started telling the reason for his unbearable pain as not only had he lost his sister but also his wife, Charuata! Rajveer had first met Charulata Dass when Geet had moved in Dass home. That time Rajveer was around twenty and Charulata around fifteen. Whenever Rajveer came to meet Geet he happened to meet Charulata. Initially their relationship started with both hating each other and continously fencing with one another. Slowly the fight changed to frienship but when frienship changed into love they don't remember. The day Charulata's mother passed away, Charulata had called Rajveer and he had rushed to Mussoorie immediately. Seeing Charulata totally broken, lonely and weak on the spur of the moment Rajveer decided to get married to Charulata and give her his support and protection. Rajveer was with Charulata for two days till she was strong enough to handle herself. He had planned to tell Rudra, Geet and his grandparents about his marriage after Vicky and Meera's marriage but before he could, Geet disappeared and then this tragic incident happened!
