CHAPTER 17
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). I'M NEITHER ENDORSING NOR ENCOURAGING ANY NEGATIVE BEHAVIOUR & CRIME TOWARDS CHILDREN. Its just a "fictional" story for entertainment purposes! PLEASE READ KEEPING IN MIND THAT THIS STORY IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT & DRAMA IS PART OF IT !!!!! If you don't agree with the concept of the story as well as my point of view (POV) of story presentation, kindly DO NOT READ THIS STORY!

Maan had filled Geet's maang with roli (kumkum) unknowingly. (Maan ne Geet ki maang bhar di!)
Hearing elders' loud gasp Maan turned towards Geet and was taken aback seeing his sweetheart wearing a whitish creme (Maan's favourite colour) Kanjivaram saree with backless blouse; and Geet's beautiful tailbone length hair tied in a long braid and "gajra" pinned at the begining of the braid.
As if that was not enough to raise Maan's desire, Geet's parting was now red with traces of "roli"/kumkum. Maan looked at his thumb and forefinger and Geet's parting and understood what he had done, bringing a slow and sweet smile on his lips surprising Geet.
Just then Rajveer came near Maan and said, "Gudiya, abb apna naach-gaane ka program shuru kar, der ho rahi hai. Daarji aur Nanaji ko bhook bhi lag rahi hai." (Gudiya, please start your cultural evening as its getting late. Daarji and Nanaji are hungry and want dinner to be served soon.)
"Accha bhai-sa, mai kapade badal kar aati hoon, chal Lacchi." (Alright bhai-sa, I'll just change and come. Come with me Lacchi.) Geet told Dulari's sixteen (16) year daughter standing next to her.
Geet changed into her lehenga for dance, seeing her reflection on the mirror, she realised for the first time why the elders had gasped as her hair parting was stained with kumkum. Geet understood that "Maan ne Geet ki maang bhar di hai", making her first shy and then at peace as well as contended. She slowly removed the excess kumkum from her forehead leaving a small dot which could be hidden in her parting. She now wanted to make Maan aware of her feelings and started thinking. While thinking Geet got an idea how to make Maan aware of her feelings in front of elders without being too obvious! She came on the stage did "Pranam". Since past 14yrs., it was a tradition in Madhuban that the music and dance program started with Geet's dance. Lacchi put on the music,

The song stated, "I'm shy to tell about my love for my beloved and our love escapades but I can indicate to you his three qualities. The first quality, is that his aura is like a high gust of wind creating a tornado destroying everything on his way. His personality is so dashing that in front of him other men seem insignificant. Next, his kurta is blue and turban is yellow (Maan was dressed in blue kurta and yellow turban) .
He is so handsome that it makes me and other women go weak at their knees seeing his beauty. His tall and muscular physique; chiselled and angular facial features makes me catch my breath. Calming my emotions, I will tell you his third quality, look there he is standing far behind everyone all alone in a corner as he is a loner but still he is looking tall, magnificent, brave and ruthless! I'm shy to tell about my love for my beloved and our love escapades!"
Throughout the dance, Geet's shy, coy and coquettish movements was making Maan restless. First time since knowing Geet, he had an intense urge to take Geet in a secluded area and make passionate love to her. Geet's dance finished to a roaring applause. Pandeys and Khuranas needed no more proof of Geet's feeling whereas Maan was stunned at Geet's direct confession of her love for him in front of both their families. Maan finally understood that the only way "to make Geet his" is by getting married to Geet religiously, socially and legally! Maan was now feeling victorious and confident with Geet's confession .
The rest of the gathered audience thought Geet was just expressing the song through her dance. Soon other women, men, girls and boys got up on the stage and started dancing. Dulari came near Geet and said, "Betiya, aapke sas...humara matlab hai Khurana Haveli ke Thakur sahaab, khaana khana chahte hai." (Geet baby, your fath...I mean Khurana Haveli's Thakur sahaab, wants dinner.) Geet nodded and left with Dulari.
Geet had just finished giving final touches to the dinner
i.e. kachori (beidhmi), aloo, kaddu (pumpkin) and boondi raita which she had cooked as 'Holika Dehan' dinner
when she felt her head throbbing and heavy; her body was also feeling warm.
She was holding her throbbing head when Thakurain Sushma Rani entered the kitchen and was shocked to see Geet looking pale and washed out.
"Geetali, bhojan...Betiya, aap theek nahi lag rahi." (Geetali dinner...Are you alright my dear?)
"Nahi Naniji, humara sar bhaari ho raha hai aur dard bhi kar raha hai. Itni thakaan lag rahi jaise shareer mein jaan hi nahi hai. Hum abhi Lacchi ko aapko bulane ke liye hi bhej rahe the." (No grandma I'm not. My head feels heavy and its paining a lot. I'm feeling so weak that my legs refuse to support my body. I was going to send Lacchi to call you.)
Thakurain Sushma Rani came near Geet touched her forehead and said, "Aap jaayiye vishraam kijiye. Waise bhi bhojan tyaar hai hum, Dulari aur Lacchi khaana laga denge." (You go and rest. Dinner is anyway ready so I, Dulari and Lacchi will manage.)
"Dhaniyavaad Naniji." (Thank you grandma.) Geet left to her room. Thakurain Sushma Rani with servants got busy serving dinner. Rajveer had overheard his grandmother and Geet's conversation, he immediately came near Geet, held her by shoulders and escorted Geet who was holding her head to her room. Rudra got geet a light dinner, then both brothers fed Geet food, gave her medicine and left once Geet had dosed off.
Once Geet had bathed, had eaten a toast and drank tea; then she had paracetamol and lay on her bed. Geet was staring into Maan's bedroom. The stress of hiding her emotions and love from Maan and her family was now finally taking its toll on her and Geet finally dozed off!
Meanwhile, Maan was frantically searching for Geet since he had seen Geet express her feelings openly but subtly in front of family, friends and society. He was passing the area where his family was having dinner, when he overheard Rajveer explaining to Maan's grandparents that Geet is having low grade fever and hence is resting in her room and she sends her apology to them for her poor etiquette.
Later that midnight three figures dressed in black stealthily crept out of Pandey house (Madhuban) towards an abandon and secluded part of Pandey Estate hiding from its security. The three figures reached an abandon hut present inside Pandey Estate premises.
Three of them entered the hut to find two middle aged men standing. One seemed like a lawyer and another looked like a man from a respected and distinguished family. The girl in the group at once ran and clung to the distinguished looking man crying, "Kaka-sa, aap itne varsh kahaan the?" (Uncle, where were you for so long?)
