There have been several remakes of Hindi
and South films in the industry. Judwaa 2
released earlier this year and went on to
become Varun Dhawan's biggest solo hit.
Everyone has a favourite film and role
they'd like to recreate. For Anushka
Sharma, it's Mani Ratnam's Dil Se. "I love
that movie. I think it should be remade in
contemporary times and I should do
Manisha Koirala's part. I love that character
and the way she played it was
outstanding, she said. Are the filmmakers
listening?

Nooo!!!!! This needs to never happen. Dil Se is perfection. And as if Anushka can play Meghna ðŸ˜† I can just imagine the overacting

Lol Anushka wouldn't be able to play this role like Manisha. She was so subtil in this role.

I actually find Anu a bit underrated on this forum. But no one would be able to march Manisha's performance. I'm sure many would dream.

She doenst want to do the role. She just said it's that one performance that she found so amazing that she has wondered how playing that role would be like. Not that she wanted to make a remake of it.
She said this during a Rajiv Masand interview back in 2013 or so

Dil se is a  beautifully woven tale of love in the backdrop of terrorism. I heard the film didn't get its due credit when it released. Manisha was enchanting in the film. The role was emotionally demanding and the innocence, cold detachment, delirium, rage, submissiveness - all she displayed with aplomb.
Anushka ... let her first show some variety in her roles and performances.

Yeah only if thecharacter demanded a loudmouth bubbly punjaban then you could do it Anushka... Manisha nailed that role and it's better if left untouched...

Unless it's a loudmouth role.Manisha's restrained act was the show stealer in the film.
