So much positivity in terms of beauty, love, images, creations! Dragice, such beautiful gifs, thank you so much, loved the lavender lotus too in the sprightly waters and the distant Sun, simply wonderful! Branka, nice to see your creations, you pack so much love, Prats always looks luminous! Madi, hope you will enjoy the festivities and the company of your cherubic sons! Lovely creations too, Madi!

Today is the beginning of the nine days celebration of the various forms of Devi Durga or mother as she is known here, which will culminate in as Dussehra on 30th September. a big festival all over India, but especially where Madi lives, in Gujarat and north India. Here too for nine nights amidst new clothes, revelry and dancing, people will dance around the idol of the deity! The Goddess vanquishes evil and this festival is a celebration of victory of good over evil. Remember once, Prats and Sid were interviewed during Bv days and they said how much they enjoyed this festival

So Happy Navaratri everyone, may the Goddess bless you and your families with her nine swaroops ( forms) of name, fame, health, wealth, happiness, humanity, education, devotion and empowerment!πŸ€—

😊Thank you Vibha for these festive greetings .πŸ€— This Devi Maa idol is looking so beautiful and piety .

Kids will be at home from tomorrow onwards, so my presence will be either limitedπŸ˜• [ if they demand my presence with them !] or an endless one ! πŸ˜†[ if they play within themselves !] Everything depends on my fate ! 😳

Good Morning Rainbow FriendsπŸ˜ƒ

Day 1, Goddess Shailputri: This is the first manifestation of goddess Durga. In this form, the goddess has the collective power of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. According to Hindu scriptures, she holds a trishul and a lotus in her hands, and rides a bull called Nandi.

Here in Telangana State the people celebrate Durga Puja as Batukamma Puja. The pictorial depiction as show below:

Bathukamma is floral festival celebrated by the Hindu women of Telangana.[1][2] Every year this festival is celebrated as per Shalivahana calendar for nine days starting Bhadrapada Amavasya (also known as Mahalaya Amavasya or Pitru Amavasya) till Durgashtami, usually in SeptemberOctober of Gregorian calendar. Bathukamma is celebrated for nine days during Durga Navratri. It starts on the day of Mahalaya Amavasya and the 9-day festivities will culminate on "Saddula Bathukamma" or "Pedda Bathukamma" festival on Ashwayuja Ashtami, popularly known as Durgashtami which is two days before Dussehra. Bathukamma is followed by Boddemma, which is a 7-day festival. Boddemma festival that marks the ending of Varsha Ruthu whereas Bathukamma festival indicates the beginning of Sarad or Sharath Ruthu.

Bathukamma represents cultural spirit of Telangana[citation needed][3]. Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different unique seasonal flowers most of them with medicinal values, in seven concentric layers in the shape of temple gopuram. In Telugu, Bathukamma' means Mother Goddess come Alive' and Goddess Maha Gauri-Life Giver' is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma the patron goddess of womanhood, Maha Gauri Devi. It is also celebrated in some cities in Andhra Pradesh like Vizag.

It is the festival for feminine felicitation. On this special occasion women dress up in the traditional sari combining it with jewels and other accessories. Teenage Girls wear Langa-Oni/Half-Sarees/Lehenga Choli combining it with jewels in order to bring out the traditional grace of the attire. The 2017 dates are September 20 - 28

While in my home town in Durg, Chhattisgarh Durga Puja is celebration with much pomp and Joy. I always enjoy this festival there very much.
