Bravery In Loss: A Poem

So, i am back with another poem.

BRAVERY IN LOSS

I wince in the agony of my heart's decisive capabilities,
The root cause of all my pain and liabilities.
Why oh why did it bathe itself in your love,
Leaving me to burn as the vegetable on the stove?

Love spares me strength to tackle all odds,
For the lover's sake against the very world it prods,
For your happiness oh warrior, i shall disrupt all societal norms,
Waiting to receive my own, battling many a storm.

Yet into a trillion fragments, my heart is broken apart,
When all i am met with is the indifference he imparts,
A lioness' transit into a meek goat in disguise,
When hers he becomes, my very soul cries.

Perhaps when i seek his satisfaction, it's greed,
My flesh and bones race like untamed steeds,
The very affection that empowers does weaken,
Consideration that's hers and self-centeredness akin.

This poem is reflecting a clear-cut portrait, a painting in words which is framed by your own thoughts, memories, and feelings about life and loss! All the emotional expressions by you through this poem, some we will be able to identify with, some will make us smile with understanding, some will make us think but all the thoughts will linger in the reader's mind for long!

 Ramya, how well you have woven the range of her emotions stemming from her troubled mind! We can only begin to imagine the pain a person experiences when the spouse falls for another. You have elaborated her turmoil so eloquently. Edited by kahiliginger - 6 years ago
